Azazel - Order I've been very impressed with the community so far. I am Vendetta, which is a great community, but even the non guild players and other guilds of Order have seemed like mature, good players. We are on a core server so of course you get those stupid names, which I hate, but from my experience these people with stupid names have been good partners in quests and RvR battles. I hope the great community continues on Azazel and there isn't a sudden rush of greedy little kids that hurt our cause on our server:) |

Who said war was easy friend? All these kids want to win every scenerio and RvR battle and the second they don't win they feel they were not provided their God given right to win every match. Pathetic. I understand people coming and going for many reasons. But because you can't win?! Please, I play Order and we win over 50% of the time. I will admit that Destro is more popular right from the start and attracts more people, but Order being a slight underdog is no reason to complain. Form a guild, do something about it. |

Warhammer is a lot of fun. I don't typically enjoy level-based, gear-focused games, however, Warhammer has so much more to offer that it actually keeps me pretty involved. It definately helps haveing a really good guild (Vendetta) to be apart of, as this keeps thing "grind" of level-based games from being obvious. I really enjoy this game and see myself playing it for quite sometime. Atleast until Bioware releases their Starwars MMO. |

lol...I always laugh at people who just blow through MMOs to be the first to hit the max level just to say they did. Not only do you skip so much fun content, you pretty much admit that your RL is very uneventful. I imagine it is possible to already of hit 40, but it really blows my mind that someone actually is that obsessed and has already done it. This is why level-based games are annoying at times lol. Either way I'm around level 18 and I'm enjoying the game very much by taking my time and exploring content. |

So I won't get my CE box till the 22nd. I know many others are in the same boat. I've been playing since the head-start launch. How will this effect me since I won't be able to enter the actual CD code till the 22nd? |

You're lucky. Mine just shipped today. I'm pretty excited about it though, as I've heard nothing but good things from the members of my guild who pre-ordered the CE. |

Many of the people playing this early are addicts and therefore they grind all day and night long. I've played my ass off and there are still people 4-5 levels higher than me and I'm at 17. That's just the way it is in MMOs. Some people are addicted to the leveling while others love to explore and try new things. Just enjoy the game, level at your own pace. There will be people coming and going and making alts for years and years to come with WAR. Don't be in a rush, you'll miss a lot of the fun content. |

This is clearly a big problem with WAR. I have noticed this a lot because of the guild structure in WAR. Guild mates just want to build their guild and therefore they roll need on everything and disperse it to their guild. I don't agree with this philosophy, but this is what is happening. Mythic needs to address this and make it so your class can't roll need on something they cannot use. The honor system just doesn't cut it in a game that is so guild based. |

I'd have to agree with Barnett on this. There are a lot of similar factors here though. Unfortunately it is another gear-based game! I'm sick of that shit, but with that said, WAR is a lot of fun when people stop focusing on getting gear and just play the RvR. Whereas WoW the ONLY thing people focus on is getting good gear so that they can go get better gear. |

Warhammer is the newest and probably the most fun. It is my recommendation that you try WAR. This will have to be the best game till a good skill-based, sandbox arrives, or another Star Wars game that isn't messed up lol. |

So I want to use scavenging as my gathering skill, but I want Tailsman as my crafting skill. Is that reasonable? It appears that the only gathering skill that goes with Tailsman making is magical salvaging because you need fragments to make the tailsmans. What do you guys think is the best combination? Also, I am a WH, should I maybe consider apothecary instead? |

I'm sure the gear obsessed, level-based carebears have a little of resentment for DF because they fear anything that doesn't allow you to play a game with little due regard for their characters life. In other words, they can't just run in a dungeon and die with no consequences because in games like DF they just don't fit in due to the risk/reward systems. |

Of course everyone wants to go with the numbers and $, I don't blaim them. You are right though OP, it would be nice to see someone do something new. All level-based MMOs are essentially the same though. |

I agree with a lot of your post. I feel WAR is overall a fun game, but it is nothing "eye-opening". It is very much the same old stuff we've seen in other MMOs, just a little bit better in certain categories. I am always hoping for a new Skill-based game, but since there is none in the near future (Darkfall is a ways out) I will be playing WAR for sure. The RvR is a lot of fun. The PvE is somewhat weak. The crafting is very limited. But the game has enough content to keep me occupied for a good amount of time till a another Ultima Online style of game comes out. I am pretty fed up of level-based games, but that's all you see anymore so I guess WAR will have to work lol. The great thing about WAR is that it doesn't have that addicting feeling that you see in other MMOs. It is easy to log in and play a short amount of time doing some scenerios or what not and then just log out. You really don't have to spend hours upon hours just to enjoy the game. |

Well there is certainly a market out there for someone who is brave enough to make a skill based, sandbox style game. I don't think Darkfall has the lore that Ultima does though. Ultima was a classic RPG series that really had a huge player base even before UO was launched. I hope Darkfall has a lot of the same elements, in fact, I hope they completely just rip off orginal UO lol. |

I wouldn't use open beta has your reference point for this topic. With guilds, testing, and many other factors there is going to be less people talking in general chat. Your point may be correct, but it is probably not right to use OB as your reference point. |

I wouldn't make that comparison really. It's most comparable to DAoC in terms of RvR and WoW in terms of PvE. The PvE is nothing you haven't seen in every MMO that exsists, infact it may even be sub-par compared to others, however, the RvR is a blast. I believe WAR will get a good number of subs based on their evolutionary RvR concepts. We are sick of the same old crap seen in every MMO so this is one of the first real changes in the MMO market that has been seen in awhile. In terms of crafting though, I feel they are innovative, but boring as hell so I'd have no comparison for the crafting section for you. It is a low maintance game like GW though, but that is the only analogy I'd make to GW. By this I mean that you can log in for an hour play some scenerio RvRs and then log out with no problem. |

Nothing was more frusterating in UO than being snooped and pickpocketed by those damn theives. However, I had a lot of fun with mine:) I really enjoyed the way UO did their PvP with the blue, grey, and red scale early on anyway. Thieves would turn grey after they stole something, if they weren't a grandmaster of course and then you could kill them anywhere in the world while they were grey and take your stuff back, plus whatever else they had. Yeah I'd like to see theives as well, it adds to the hardcore factor of a real skill based, sandbox style game. |
