People always complain about games getting boring after they have maxed their characters, well unless of course they enjoy the "gear grind". You will always have this if you choose to play a quest based, level-based game. Start joining the masses in prayer for a real MMORPG, a skill-based, sandbox style game. But if you are going to be playing one of these carebear quest based games then I recommend WAR, as it has so much content in it that you will be entertained for a long time, especially if you find a good guild. |

I don't believe there will really be a WoW killer, because people will always be playing WoW. However, WAR is an amazing game, even at this stage in beta and I'm sure it will be stealing some subs from WoW. However, from my experience, most people in beta now that are WAR lovers are not coming directly from WoW, but instead had played WoW in the past and were unsatisfied with the PvP aspect. WAR is the answer to those players. |

Whatever the new title will be, I would love to see a section for the new Star Wars game so that we can combine research and gossip. I relize that this game is not even far enough along to be put in the "Games in Developement" section, but perhaps there could be another category where games like this and Mortal Online could fit into until they are more tangible to be moved to the "Games in Development" section. Seems like the SWG forums get flooded with info concerning this highly anticpated title from Bioware. |

I've been playing in beta for 2 weeks now and I have come to basically the same conclusions. The PQs are a blast, they are my favorite way to level. The only downfall I see that I don't like is that it doesn't have a "world" feel to it. It feels to me more like stages and paths, however, I anticipate this to be changing as the release all content and flight paths. Perhaps their map system needs to be reworked in order to encompass the that "massive world" feeling I yearn for. Overall, the game is a lot of fun. It is basically everything they have said it would be, atleast what I can see so far. Nothing more, nothing less. Of course I would hope for a skill based game with a sandbox feel, but since MMOs have been going the opposite route I suppose WAR is the best option there is. It is very PvP orientated, which I like. Basically, they were 100% correct when they said "war is everywhere." |

That about sums it up. I find it funny how all these fanbois were shouting that DF will release in 2008. We are almost into September and there is hardly any evidence of the game existing. I've been saying it over and over, we will not see DF in 2008. Feel free to quote me in December when the game is still in the distance:) |

This often bothers me about games as well, I love having a serious death penalty so that the game is more serious and hardcore and people have to actually think before they act. However, with that said, I have been loving WARs way of the death penalty. In WAR you die so often that if you had any sort of of penalty other than a loss of time and negative buff it would be way too frusterating. If you want a serious death penalty game you are going to have to wait for a skill based game to be blessed upon us. But WAR is definately worth playing, this coming from someone who enjoyed hardcore MMORPG such as Ultima Online. |

WAR surprising does have it all. PVE is not as prevalent as seen in WoW, but it is still there and I'm sure they will be adding more. In terms of rewards, none of us know that at this point and if we did we couldn't say much about it. Be advised they have always stated that there is some high tier PvE in the game. |

I could not disagree with you more, this game is very much like WoW. Of course it may be even more like DAOC, but it is more like if DAOC and WoW were to have a baby....this is what would come out lol. I know it sucks to admit that our beloved game is similar to the hated, childish WoW, but it is very much like it. For those of us who use to play the old hardcore MMOs such as EQ or UO this game reminds us of WoW because our first experience of games were not level-gear based games with little consequences to death. No, to us it is right in the same family with WoW. Now because this is all that is put out these days we will have to deal with it. With that said WAR is a lot of fun and has a lot of potential. It is very "busy" in the sense that WAR really is everywhere. |

I was in the same boat, but there are many other characters to enjoy, no doubt about it. I was disappointed as well, but after playing in beta, I realized there are so many other characters I like as well. |

I feel like Mythic has taken all the hassle and grind out of the quest and made them more fun. I hate waiting and fighting over drops all day. WAR is all about fun, not grind. Well, and of course WAAAGH! |

So I've been playing the past week in closed beta and all was good. I tried loading it today and it said something about my code being incorrect at the server screen. Now when I try to load the client it won't go past the patcher screen. It stops with it saying 100%, but the Play button never comes up so I can click it. Then it will kick my back to the EAPatcher login screen. Any ideas? I know my CE codes were put into the beta center, as it says Amazon CE beta customer or whatever. |

First of all, I plan on playing Order because I prefer the underdogs. However, if I choose to play Destruction on another server I would definately roll Chosen because they look amazing! |

Same old, same old. DF had fanbois believing on a 2008 release even as recent as a month ago. What say you now? Duh, it is very clear this game is not releasing anytime soon. I am not so skeptical that I do not believe in the games exsistence, but I am realistic enough know that the game is NOT coming out in 2008. |

After looking at most available polls it is clear that Chaos will be the majority in WAR. Apparently they are not only the majority in numbers, but they also have better teamwork and skill according to beta players. After the NDA is lifted I think those who don't know what I'm talking about soon will. My theory on this would be the fact that there are a ton of well organized guilds that seem to roll Chaos for whatever reason. It's unfortunate for me because I'll play Order. Seems like Chaos gets more mature, skilled MMO players and Order gets a lot of newbies. This was seen in WoW as well. I will enjoy being the underdog sometimes, but it will get old eventually. What bothers me is that many guilds try saying that Chaos will be the underdog and that's why they choose them, when that is clearly not the case as of yet anyway. Anyone have any theories as why this is the case? Or you think I'm completely wrong and Order will be more dominant eventually? |

When I opened the new newsletter I read about how important this newsletter was and all that junk, but it didn't tell me much of what I didn't already know. I thought for sure it would have the date for open beta on it, but no. I thought for sure we'd have a confirmed date by this week. It's not like I'm asking for open beta to start this week, just give me a date lol. When do you think the date for open beta will come in? |
