Game has a lot going for it indeed. I think it is taking a risk with trying to incorporate new features such as diplomacy. They may or may not pay off we will have to see. I think it is best left at just saying the game is not for everyone, but if you love MMORPGs this is something you should atleast give a try since it is taking a more innovative approach. It might be your holy grail of MMORPGs. There are clearly biases on both sides, but at this point 99% of it is all speculation anyway right. |

I enjoy a variety of choices as well, but I don't like it when the differences are so minor b/w certain races that no one can even tell the difference. Could be the case in some some of these such as the humans. I'm not sure though since I'm not in beta :( |

For gamer's sake, make UO 2 it would dominate the industry! Don't you realize the amount $ you could be making. |

I played UO back in beta and 3 years after it was released. UO kicked ass, but I feel that it is simply outdated at this point for my MMORPG needs. Any suggestion to games in development that I can look towards in hope of an updated mirror of UO since UO 2 is out of the question :( Darkfall seems to be similar to UO to me. Only problem is, the release date of DF is more uncertain everyday. Most have for me: Player owned houses, long character development, good PvP system, and great crafting system. |

This game use to be the best by far. You gotta remember it was released back in '97. A lot has changed in MMORPGs since then that has caused for UO to take a back seat. Nevertheless it is a great game, just outdated. The 14-day free trial is a good suggestion to see if you would like to commit to the game. |

Appears to be similar to UO skill base. That was the best way to incorporate skills in a game if you ask me. Everyone is different because so many different paths to go in the skill combinations. |

Yeah if they postpone launch it could result in a lot of fans committing to other games, possibly for good. They have had plenty of beta time to polish this game up. It better launch no later than early Jan. '07. I am confident that it will, just a haunch. |

Definatly more important to put out a finished product than have the first week of nothing but crashed servers and bugs |

This has been done every since the orginal release. While it keeps some current subscribers happy, it does not do much in terms of bringing in new members. Adding more item-centric or housing choices only complicates the game for newbies. At this point UO is more concerned with bringing in past or new subscribers. |

In regards to OP, Vangaurd has some similarities of the orginial UO, but not as many as UO fans would wish. I feel that in terms of the PvP, VSoH might resemble orginal UO in some sense such as seemless world with no instances and dungeon competition. I think Vangaurd is more closely resembling SWG, however. But definatly NOT WoW rehashed LoL. |

Can't believe a game that was so popular in development is rated this low?! I'm not impressed by what I read concerning DnL. What happened that made this game fall so far? |

Didn't look as bad as what some of the above commentors are saying; however, it was kinda goofy. It is hard to give a fair judgment in that link since it was a link of a video camera recording a monitor. Kinda remined me of Alpha Streetfighter II. lol |

Would make the game intense as hell, but I'm afraid I'd quit if I lost a character that I invested a ton of time into and he got ganked by a group or something:( |

Unfortunatly this is very true. WoW raised the bar as far as smooth animation. However, I'd have to say my biggest turn-off is tedius, pointless tasks. The quest system is fun at times, but can be extremely annoying. I enjoyed how UO when was it was orginally released with no quests. Allowed you to follow any path you wanted instead of the early level tedius quests. |

I haven't had a good impression of LOTRO. There is a lack of information, however. Many concepts and developments that can make or break this game are still up in the air. Not only are they not being worked on, but they haven't been decided on yet. Seems to me like they are just trying to capitilze on the great story of Lord of the Rings and ride the coat tails to make some money. I may be wrong. We'll be able see in the near future. |
