Getting deja-vu again. Can you say Tabula Rasa everyone ? I know you can boys and girls. I understand the Christmas holiday is coming but come on, 3 months after launch and it's 10 bucks ? Desperation is setting in i'm afraid. |

Pros: The concept of WAR is everywhere is good. Playable on most pcs. No major grind to gain max level in pve. Cons: PQ's could have been done better. The content they cut from the game should have been there at launch. This game needed more time in the oven before official launch. Scenarios are ok but they become too repetitive to gain renown ranks. PVE is too boring and dull. They need to make this aspect of the game more enjoyable. On most servers low level tiers are empty. We really didn't need another game based off the Warhammer IP. I would much rather enjoyed playing a DAOC 2. Not worthy of a monthly fee just to get a pvp fix. Lack of replayablilty after you sack the opposing city. You finish the game once and I don't see a major need to redo it all over again. They seriously need to start merging servers. There are simply too many servers with low population making the game less enjoyable for players. WOW can offer free transfers because it has 11 mill plus playing, you do not. Leaving it up to the players right now is just a bad idea.

Guild Wars because the object is for you to save Tyria,Cantha and Elona from evil. You get really nice armor sets and weapons at end game for your characters. There are also many areas in Guild Wars where you can farm for really nice weapons as well. You can choose to hero/hench the missions or join a group to accomplish your goals. One of the best things I liked about Guild Wars was the story and lore of the game. |

Guild Wars 2 by Arenanet will be the best out of the bunch. They probably have one of the best developement teams in gaming today. Guild Wars has been a huge success over the years selling 5mill plus copies and people keep coming to play. Things such as a higer level cap, persistent world, world pvp and a much larger/better pve experience I think will only be a huge plus for existing and new players. I bought AOC and WAR this year and both pretty much failed to deliver. I know some would like to put a 'positive spin" on things but unfortunately the cons out weigh the pros this year for mmos. Hopefully 2009 gives us gamers better games to play. |

Doesn't matter to me as long as the game is fun. Every game has its own pros and cons but without the fun factor I won't continue playing it. |

Are some bitter because this wont be a sandbox ? Have they ever played a Bioware game before ? I mean it is more than ok not to like something but man this is just way too early for ranting. |

Its' only human to compare things. When something is new you want to compare to see if it better than what you have been playing. The problem I have is when people start calling new games WOW clones because ideally WOW took alot of ideas from alot of other games. |

AOC gets the nod followed by WAR. 2008 was the year of hype and nothing more. Maybe 2009 will offer some hope ? |

Why would anyone get a free month with an expansion unless you bought the original game with it. |

Not suprising to see the game ending. The fanbase is just about gone and no sense in dumping more money than what they already have into the game. I feel bad for their fans because they deserved a much better product. They are banking on Aion and Guild Wars 2 to be the big sellers. |

They are simply cutting their losses. The fanbase is just about gone and they couldn't make it work. They are going to pin all their hopes on AIon and Guild Wars 2. I guess we will see what happens. |

WOW: Wotlk. Recently started up on the new Grizzly Hills realm and been having fun. I'll probably be playing WOW until Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2 hits the shelves then waiting for SW:TOR. |

I agree with you, unfortunately, MMORPG.com doesn't have a "Space Opera" genre. What we have to choose from is: Fantasy SciFi Super-Hero Historical Real Life Sports Horror
We have to choose from those, I am affraid. They should make one. |

Star Wars is an epic space opera franchise initially conceived by George Lucas. The first film in the franchise was simply titled Star Wars,
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_opera Space opera is a subgenre of speculative fiction or science fiction that emphasizes romantic, often melodramatic adventure, set mainly or entirely in space, generally involving conflict between opponents possessing powerful (and sometimes quite fanciful) technologies and abilities. Perhaps the most significant trait of space opera is that settings, characters, battles, powers, and themes tend to be very large-scale.
Fantasy is a genre that uses magic and other supernatural forms as a primary element of plot, theme, and/or setting. Fantasy is generally distinguished from science fiction and horror by the expectation that it steers clear of technological and macabre themes, respectively, though there is a great deal of overlap between the three (collectively known as speculative fiction).
I'll take space opera for 50 please! |

To each their own I guess but I found both WAR and AOC to be alot of hype more than anything and I really wanted to like AOC alot but it just did not work for me. So I started up WOW again recently and now I am having fun again in mmos. Why ? I guess because WOW is more polished then the others, it offers more of a community feeling, the world itself is more immersive than both and there is a ton more content in WOW than the others too. Maybe down the line I would give AOC another try, perhaps they might actually get to fixing alot of the issues but by the time that happens I'll be looking to play Guild Wars 2, SW:TOR and yes Diablo 3! |
