There is still some intresting info there if you read between the lines. |

I hope we see such compllexity and depth again one day. I am looking forward to some of the (very few) skill based (rather than level based) games coming out though. |

Hehehe for some reason Firefox spell checker dosen't always seem to catch stuff in MMORPG's editor. Have they got there own checker that intercepts it? <shrug> I dunno but I'm lost without a checker <blush> |

MS wont add DX10 support to XP (or so they say). Sadly you just can't fight 'progress' (haha) or we would all be on Windows 3.11. MS have extended support for XP but they are banging nails in that particular coffin as best they can. |

Thats really not conducive to a PvP experience. Also the zone's tend to be small and somewhat 'on rails'...that would is surmountable with new zone designs but is likely to hit performance. It's a shame that siege warfare is a 'mini game' too, again that is surmountable, in a year or two PC specs will have moved on. I can understand why some decisions have been taken but they are limiting. Funnily enough WAR suffers from a different (and almost opposite) set of issues. Worth checking out to do a 'compare and contrast'.

I look forward to having another go when they have it in good enough state that they offer a free month to past subscribers. I get the impression thats still a long way off. I just wish they would do AO2 or deal with some of the shortcomings in AO 1. Splendid game but with a few serious flaws. Been back to that 3 or 4 times. |

OP if you strictly apply the definition in your post then you have an absolute unbiased measure of whether a game is vapourware or not. |

I bought a new machine and operating system to enjoy DX10. <shrug> Personally I dont like being lied too. 3 days before release Gaulte said it was in and he was playing it and it was amazing. One of many out and out lies. Most people don't like being treated like this. It's worth playing the early stages of the game graphics are good some of the music is outstanding (I want the soundtrack) but as an ongoing MMORPG it really aint great. I guess FC will get there eventually but there are some serious issues with game architecture that will be hard to sumount. |

I have to say I really hope they manage to deliver something credible. I just can't help feeling that they might be being a touch naieve if they think that a small group of internal testers is going to uncover all the stuff they need to. I also hope that they have evolved and learnt the lessons they need to over the lengthy development process. Hard to tell, at least they aren't making extravagent claims (except for release this year). Just hope that Tasos dosent turn out to be another McQuaid or Garriot i.e. somone that starts to believe the fantasy rather than the reality of thier game. |

Another concideration is with some f2p models the games stay in open beta for years. |
