This is probably one of the few f2p MMOs I have never tried. Ive heard 50-50 on "its a good game" or "its a bad game" But ive never really gotten reasons. I figure I might as well give it a go, but is it worth the trouble of downloading? Can somone tell me about it? The map size, charector customization, leveling up, things like that. Thanks.

Yeah, it may be a huge grind, But I do like how its not click-and-kill. Instead you actually hit buttons to attack.

This game is one of the better games ive played...but will it ever come out of Beta? Ive noticed it came out in 2003 but yet its still in beta..any idea when it will have a final release?

I tried it out not to long ago, and I thought it was nice. I havnt played in a really long time so im gonna try it again. I quit RuneScape about 2 months back, because Jagex made it from a great retro MMO to something that you should buy in a store..So this looks like a brilliant game for retro MMO fans

The thing that gets me with Guild Wars is, is it considered a MMORPG? Or just a RPG with online? I mean, I know that its 100% online game, but the map system makes it feel like its not a MMO. Another thing I question is it populated? Meaning, is their a lot of people playing it? Otherwise, I like Guild Wars a lot.

Hmmm...MMO = A game which is played online with other players. A game which you have a account too where you typically "level up" skills or combat. Which means...MapleStory *gasp* is a MMO! Wow..and learn to spell please...if thats "seriously" I would take look at that..

I have heard of people that play this game outside of Europe, but I dont know how they register. I have been trying to, but it says you need to be in Europe. If thats true, how can people play in the U.S?

I was looking as this game, and it looked really good. Ive heard its a great F2P game. I noticed that you can buy a retail verson for 20$. I was wondering, does the retail version open extra features or is their no need to buy it? Please help. Thanks.

Oh, and please tell me about the gameplay and all of that. Is it good? Is their a lot of armour and weapons? Is the world big? Questions like that. Thanks.

Ill agree with everyone else, its not what you would call a "main MMORPG" But it is simply hilaious. If you want a break from your MMO or your stressed out, play Dungeon Runners.

Well, for a long time Ive been looking for a new MMO. I mean for a long time lol. Ive been playing a few games here and their, but I still havnt found a game worth playing for a long time. I cam across dungeon runners and noticed theirs no cash shop (yay!)  And if you want membership, its cheap, cheap enough for me to pay for it If I really wanted to. I noticed the graphics..and love them already from all the videos ive seen and screens ive seen of it. So...should I give it a go? Really in the end im going to no matter what ever says, but I just want to hear some opinions on the game.

even runescape is better imo..thats..sad

RuneScapes better then a lot of games..Would you rather have a browser MMO with skills, or some cheap button punching, potion burning Asian MMO? Look around the MMO market and youll think its better then a lot of online games..

But back to the topic. Crowded? Do you relize that their are different servers? I play on the Khaini Server and theirs a good ammount of people, but youll have many maps with no players at all. And I have DSL which is pretty slow, and dont get a lot of lag at all out of this game..

I have to be honest...Ive played RuneScape for 2 years and it has been my favorite MMO for those 2 years...but...I couldnt agree with you more. I figured when I clicked this thread that it would be another noob flaming RuneScape for its graphics and thats it, but your points are probably the best ones..Totally agree. The one I agree most with is Jagex doesnt care about you, they just want your money. So true it hurts, their giving F2P people a bunch of new updates, and they punished US HONEST PLAYERS for real world traders. Gf Jagex..

Please dont think this is a thread from a hater of RuneScape. RS was the first MMO I played and Ive played it for 3 years about. I personnaly loved the old graphics and the old way things worked. The PvP system was great (the old wilderness) The trade system was just fine, and to be perfectly honest..I loved the bots in RS. Its what made RuneScape..RuneScape

But with all the new updates..its time for me to quit the game. It not that it has gotten old..its just changed to much. The new trade system is...blah..Im not saying their purpose was bad, im just saying the update was...horrible. Taking out the Wilderness..Well..I dont really mind Bounty Hunter, but the old Wilderness was good old, retro style PvP. And the new Graphics..I know they reseble the old ones, but the old ones are also what made RuneScape, Runescape. The Grand Exchange I like..but I love how World 1 and 2 were always packed with players selling their items with possible scammers lerking about. RuneScape has just changed to much. Im a retro player and its time for me to quit the game. I dont mind all the new updates, but Retro RuneScape just was the best.

You really don't have to quit just stop raiding and just PK. That's much less time consuming

My guess is you are hooked on WoW?

Lol, good point tbh..just didnt know of another site where I could post it..

Actually no, Ive only played WoW once in my life and I hated it  Its just MMOs in general.

I dont know what it is..but I think I have a addiction with MMORPGs. I know I have to try to quit, but I just keep coming back. I have to quit, im putting MMOs in front of some things that deffinitly should be more important. Im only 14 so its one of my few forms of entertainment until I get older. But me playing them has really gotten out of control. I usually play them half the day with it being summer and I just think it makes me a better person if I quit them.  The problem is like I said, I keep coming back. I know I need to quit, but I love MMOs and feel like I cant just give them up. So..can somone give me suggestions on what to do? Or please give me some support. Im tired of having MMOs control my life. But I cant walk away =(. Im trying to get into my Console games because their great fun, but dont have the same addictive nature. Somone give me support please..

The argument that the instances cause it not to be an MMO is nonsense, as that would effectively be saying that every time you enter an instance in WoW you're suddenly not playing an MMO anymore.

GW totally instanced, WOW with few instances... what are you trying to compare here? i know you are GW fan and invested way too much time and money in it but that doesn't mean you are always right my friend.

Yes, great argument..congratulations.. (sarcasim)

Hes invested too much money into GW? You relize this is a f2p game right? I see youve been playing LOTRO for awhile their..now youre spending to much money..

Lol, you say its great..then you say its Sh*t..hmm...and how the hell is it addictive? All you do is fight..fight..fight some more..and your occasional quest which requires more fighting!! Asian grinding at its finest

Whats you discribed is...pretty much any MMO. I mean fighting monster/mob is the basic of an MMO. Most players do expect to kill monster from the start.

Well for one thing maplestory was pretty addictive until i got bored at a certain point. The game just fails with puting endgame content. The level cap is way too high and then when you hit the cap there is nothing to do.

True. MS has never really been addicting to me but its been fun. The thing I look foward to at high level is the boss monsters, but otherwise..like you said its a fail at endgame content..

Sorry for all the post lately, but im really interested in this game and I want to learn as much as I can. Ive heard a lot of of people say that Guild Wars really isnt a MMO, but just a game thats online. Im aware that you can actually beat it and the towns are the only places you can see other players, but is it more of a MMO or offline RPG?
