Whats your take on the expansion ?

Game got a major expansion today. What's everyone experience been  ? Is it true that game unbalancing heal potions are only sold by the company  and therefore you have to pay real money to compete in pvp ?

I love to solo so never took a serious look at this game. Is the game still group centric ?

The first announcement was quite exciting. Now..it's like they never said ANYTHING.Time to focus on games that want potential subscribers to focus on them.

Ask 10 people what their favorite flavor of ice cream is ? That's unfortunately how helpful answers here are .We all have different likes and dislikes.I suggest you check the ratings this site has amassed for various mmog.That wil give you a broad picture of the game universe and what  a signifigant number of players feel.

(shakes head)  Everything this company seems to do gives me a headache.Stupid me keeps reading about this game and getting more dopey "information". Where's my ignore button ?

The problem has been known and experienced since beta.Seems like the heat coming form all the complaints is going up a few degrees.

I am looking forward to both games, but as it stands, I will jump ship for MO from DF on launch day. I personally don't think that Aventurine will deliver a quality, polished product, but I do think I will be able to enjoy it based on premise alone. From what little we have seen from SV, MO is looking to be a very well done sandbox game with the added bonus of looking great.

It will have factiion vs faction warfare. My sense of it is its the GW devs cut at a DAOC type of game...with  some alternative arena fighting.

USA  launch date has not even been announced.So for players like myself not much to talk about.In addition many of us are hyped out(from so many disappointments).Personally I would like to try it.i signed up for newsletters and beta but never received any communication form the company.So.....

I  take it housing is not currently in the game ?(for individuals)

I voted LOTRO. Reasons....deep pve......crafting...housing....nice graphics....extensive world.....strong dev team....free trial...histroy of meaningfull expansions

Voted against WAR.Reasons.....modest repetative pve.....game bugs.....no crafting......no housing......poorly developed rvr.....no free trial.

Darkfall is a sandbox game AOC is not. DF has deep crafting...AOC does not. DF has ships individuals can sail....AOC does not..  AOC impact on DF....none. Full looting is a minimal part of what DF has to offer .

I just visited the web site.Signed up for the newsletter.Looks like my kind of game.

To the OP.....I recognise you  and what you are doing...trying to take  another step in the  CULTURE WAR and using these forums to do  it. 
America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a "secular-progressive" country .No one is being fooled by your suggestion.

 

Hopefully the devs will look at the failures of  WAR's game  system and the things that work or could be made better that are a part of DAOC.

Well...sitting here sipping my coffee this morning.I don't have  a mmog I play regularly.Thinking ahead I was wondering if there will be any signifigant new game introductions in the six weeks or so till year end. Darkfall may be launched. Are there any other signifigant possibilitys?
