Yes, the flexibility and complexity are one of the strongest points of AO.

Although it got easier than it was when I started, it still is not as beginner friendly as other MMOs. But the time you'll invest to get into the game will be worth it.

I'm playing this game since almost 6 years and although I tried many other MMOs in that time too, AO is the only one I'm still playing.

Graphics may be dated, but this will change soonTM.

Which version did you try on that resolution? If DarkMini it might be really to small. ;o)
Anyways I where not able to test my skins at higher resolutions than 1600x1280 so I canonly guess what it will look like.

Sounds like there went something wrong while installation for your first problem, although I never heard of this problem before.

The little help window is not supposed to be closed. But you can choose to not get any tips again in the open (larger) help window, then closing this window and confirming the disabling of tips in the upcoming dialog. Then the little help window will also been gone.

What you showed should be enough for being able to play AO in PvE environments on Rubi-Ka (In the Shadowlands your framerate may drop by 5-10% in many situations there but you are not allowed to enter the Shadowlands with the free version anyways).
The performance you got may cause trouble in mass-PvP at least, but will still be OK for 1on1 and alike low crowd PvP.

If you plan to an system upgrade, stay on upgrading CPU and RAM, as AO mostly relies on these components and much less on your graphics card.

I think this is one of the nicest pre-order plans I have seen so far. Getting a lower montly fee or a one-time-pay only is worth more than the goodies others give out with their pre-order-packages.
I have obtained many of those, some better than others but at last, most of the benefits of pre-order where gifts like art-books, maps, calendars, paintings, t-shirts, figures and such wich had a very short lifespan on my desk before I put them into boxes and never touched them again...
From this I think the way Turbine goes with their plan gives me as a player a much better bonus for pre-ordering.

So great I didn't want to spoil it. Beautiful game.
I'm going to pre-order this most definitely.
Can't wait!

Just one note to add. When you pre-order at one of the official vendors, youl'll keep your character you created in the open beta with all items and stats.
