Take your AOC graphics engine and put it in AO!

AO is by far a much better game than your AOC game will ever be, its sad but true. AO was innovative and very creative when it first came out, and still by comparison AO classes are WAY better than most modern MMO's currently out.

So i/we beg you, take your AOC graphics engine and use it to infuse some new life into AO.

That would be a few thousand man-hours to redo all the artwork. I'm thinking they don't have that kind of money or manpower at the moment even if they did want to do it.

I agree that AO has 10 times the depth of any game out there.  Eve would be next in my opinion with WoW about dead last.  Can't dumb that one down much more.

The are redoing the graphics to be dx9 c instead of the currecnt dx7.  Once that's done they'll be able to slowly work on reskinning and remodeling everything.  If they get enough interest in the game when they do redo the graphics hopefully they can afford to hire on a couple more artists and coders and speed up the process.

i remember seeing awhile back that AO was going to get a makeover with new graphics, DX10 and all. There was a vid on mmorpg.com even if im correct (should still be around unless it was taken down.)

.... but i guess thats not gonna happen for awhile, u know with all the success AoC is having; 415,000 active accounts in august, and DX10 compatibility, along with promised, good updates and fixes.... oh wait....

When AoC completely tanks, it will take AO, and Funcom as a whole, with it. There is a reason they've stopped talking about the new engine: it ain't gonna happen.

that a shame was hopeing  ao would get a face lift  . wanted to  get  back in to playing ao . dont  think it worth putting money in the game now  see what happends next year

in the last update Sil was still talking about the graphics engine, there havent been any new updates so we will have to wait on that to be sure on whether the new engine is coming or not, but im sure it has been delayed cause aoc is fc's new lovechild

Listening to people on this forum is like taking the advice of a "psychic" that works for Dionne Warwick. They don't *know* anything, it's just based of guessing mostly. I see with my eyes, not with my psychic abilities. The key is not worrying about things too much and just taking it as it comes. With all the FC hate going around right now I wouldn't count on anything being gospel until it actually happens, or we see something official... There is no reason why people can't hold out hope for the AO graphics upgrade. However it's certainly not a good reason to play the game or not. The reason why it's been around so long is the gameplay anyways...

i remember AO in the beginning and started to play the day it got out...

was a real nice game bugs or no bugs it was fun..

Age of Conan is the worst crap i ever played and had nothing similar of gaming experience with AO  AOC is the biggest crap and i rather would have seen a AO2 instead of Conan

and why cant Funcom do games that dont lag or has that slow response?

all games form funcom have serious issues with LAG and slow response..

you move the mouse. target and click enemy to fight "*cough** run to the kitcehn to get some coffe*** and just back in time when u start to figh the mob... if thats not slow then what is?

yea AO lagged terribly for years.. but they fixed it about a year ago lol.. bout time

Funcom reads MMORPG.com?...

Engine is on its way. And I still prefer FC bidding their time so they get it out nice and smooth. Plus, lots of good stuff happening over the past year.

I noticed some people are quite bitter over FC, but if they get bitter over some game, then big fat LOL.

And in most cases, opinion of tha masses is the same with opinion of the misinformed. AO forum is open and can be viewed by everyone.
