    • to many people hate this game because they played for 5 mins got killed and left not understanding what rolls are and what d&d is all about. this should make it more simple and fun in creating. this game is one of many i would recommend you can multi class dodge atks by just moving out of the way of weapons and shoot arrows throw knife/axes and see them stick into walls. the game requires skill in tactics aim timing and knolage of mmorpgs. you can multiclass and even turn into a tree if so wished. to try it go to there site and get a trial key

    • So is LOTRO, or WAR, or AoC, but even AoC is better than this game...

    • i wounder how long master has plaed DDO. i have been playing DDO since beta abd think it is a great game. yea it does not have the anoubt of stuff as the other MMO's out there buy you need to remember it is just starting out.DDO is still a baby compared to WoW or Ever Quest. can not wait till the next mod for DDO.

    • This game sucks, its dead and it isnt coming back... the bottom line is the y had a good concept but extremely poor execution, whats the point in playing an mmo that is %100 instanced and can be adjusted for solo play? nobody is going to want to group up unless its totally necessary, and thats really the whole point of an mmo. Not just that, but the reduculously small scope of the game isnt exactly appealing either... not to mention the total lack of anything other than dungeon crawling to do....

    • they are implementing the 4th edition rules, nothing is really "new" as they say. If you read the 4th edition rule books, you'll see that they split up the classes just as the way they're describing everything. and who put the blonde bimbo in charge of speaking, she sounds like she is from the valley, ending everything like its a question.

    • WSIMike - are you really so against giving new (non-D&D playing) players a crutch for the first builds? The old-timers are busy shredding what we know about the preset builds, so certainly people will still want to customize...

    • (for those who didn't get it, my last comment was 100% sarcasm)

    • The new and -cough- improved DDO! No thinking required! Forget about those pesky stats... Forget about learning the ins-and-outs of a class, learning how to tweak it exactly how you want... Pfft... Who wants to use their brain that much? Just turn off that light-bulb in your head and enjoy the new, -cough- streamlined system!

    • Mysk - no, you start as a core class - only Ranger unless you use the "elven" path to arcane archer. The Enhancement system turbine added to D&D let's you choose a Prestige Class chain.. for example, the 1st level arcane archer can be taken at you 6th ranger level. Enhancements are the biggest departure from 3.5, but actually they are kind of cool.. and 4E has some things with action points like it. This is the only MMO I've ever stuck with.. well, since the SillyMUD days.. DDO rocks, warts and all.

    • It a shame that the european version doesn't have the gametime cards :(

    • DDO is the best MMO right now. It's not copying any other, and doing great. Off course there are quivers and flying arrows. You even can't put burning arrows to quivers - to keep it more logical. Also, arrows are not "auto pilot" targeted as much as in WoW. You can shot even without targeting trough interface, if you feel a "sharp shooter" ;). So don't believe people who played it LONG time ago ;). Or only a few hours. I quit WoW after playing few years, for a much better game the DDO is. I'm quite experienced in MMOs in general, going back to Ultima, played most worthy games. Now I know I found my home in DDO, as a player. Don't trust whiners who praise only what they play at the moment. Give DDO a try, there's a big hope you're like it's original approach.

    • bows...no quivers , no strings? lol
  • Mysk(posted Tue Aug 19 2008)
    • Arcane Archer.... does this distribute your points to get you started on the path to that prestige class, or do you actually begin the game as that class? O.o I like the idea behind this system, but beginning as a prestige class is way too much.

    • Very nice character creation interface. Too bad game sucks.
  • Sarr(posted Tue Aug 19 2008)
    • It's not that way at all now CujoSWAoA ;). Want to see my 4 level character? http://sarr.enetia.pl/screeny/ScreenShot00005.jpg http://sarr.enetia.pl/screeny/ScreenShot00006.jpg

    • Good idea, DDO is a fun game.
  • CujoSWAoA(posted Tue Aug 19 2008)
    • You don't even have CAPES in DDO. No hoods, no capes... As an avid archer it annoyed the heck out of me that this is another MODERN MMO where your Bow "doesn't have a string". And all the NPCs are wearing quivers, your character? No... not a chance, you just pull and use magical invisible arrows. DDO needs to work on its player appearances if I'm ever to give it a real shot. I don't like playing a game where I don't like how I look. Stats and a temple "holding my hand through 20 levels" aren't enough for me.
  • DeserttFoxx(posted Tue Aug 19 2008)
    • I will have to check out DDO when this is released, i dont understand the DDO system to well, but i like it, i liked it in KOTOR but that was mainly because they did something along these lines at the begning.
  • Kataal(posted Tue Aug 19 2008)
    • this is a GREAT idea, and really what the game needs.
