Character Systems Part One

MMORPG.com Roma Victor Correspondent Phil Zieg writes this overview of the character system in the Roman-era based game.

Roma Victor is a massively multiplayer online game based on the Roman Empire, circa 180AD, and is currently being developed by RedBedlam.
It has a new game concept, new technology and gaming techniques, as well as a radical and unique revenue model that doesn’t use subscription, advertising or phone bills to generate the revenue required to maintain the service.
Roma Victor features social interaction on a massive scale, freestyle and mission-led gameplay, one on one combat in the Coliseum, tactical warfare on the battlefields of Europe. We have order and civility within the confines of Rome, chaos and lawlessness in the hinterlands of the unoccupied territories. Graphically sophisticated and historically rooted, the game has an instant and lasting appeal.
Thanks to the spread of the Roman Empire, you can join the game practically anywhere - as a Roman, a Gaul, a Goth, a Pict, a Briton, a Syrian, but you do so at the bottom of the social scale, and status doesn’t come easy. What you aim for, and how you get there, is entirely up to you. Bribery, stealth, violence, strength, cunning - all of these will help you progress to your chosen goal, be it citizenship, gladiatorial prowess, barbarian chieftain, or perhaps you have your eye on the throne of Rome?
For more information on the game itself, check out the FAQ or look through the concept character biographies in our game section. These biographies will hopefully give prospective players some idea of the things that they might expect as part of their own experiences in Roma Victor.
