Its funny watching the fanbois and trolls go at it. Honestly, I find myself agreeing with some things in just about every post made by each side. We saw this same thing go down prior to AOC release, and I think I can safely say we are not looking at another AOC debacle. The game is fun and quite playable. The game is neither as awesome as the fanboi raves it is, and it is certainly not some bug filled snooze fest that the trolls are labeling it as. The game won't be a huge runaway hit, but it won't be a flop either. Its not gonna put too much of a hurt on WoW's numbers, but it will be a success and has lots of room to grow over the years and it probably will have a large dedicated following during those years. Again, its good enough to succeed and find its place rather high up on the MMO population charts, but its not that "OMG this is what we have been waiting for" type of game. Its true mobs sometimes stun themselves in place for a few seconds while being pulled. Doesn't happen all the time and its not a gamebreaker. Its also true that auctioneers and the bank don't even work, however, I doubt thats gonna be a huge hurdle to put in and in a game like this they should have just come up with something new anyways then the standard auctioneer and banker. Its also true the game is very smooth and probably one of the more polished betas in recent memory. We can nitpick, but I saw nothing really gamebreaking. Its also true the game is relatively lag free in all but the biggest of battles. There are some innovative things, the graphics are nice, not amazing, but their cool. The music and sounds are well done. Don't kid yourselves, its not coming to the plate with near the bells and whistles that WoW did at launch. There is a lot of stuff missing. I saw quite a few few beta reviews starting off with comments like "lets get this right out of the way, the game looks nothing like wow"......uh... huh??? Its true its a little grittier and more realistic, but its also a bit more bland and looks a heckuva lot like WoW with all the exaggerated architecture and landscaping. My wife doesn't know a thing about these games and when she walked throught the room she did a double take and asked "is this the new game you said you were gonna try, or the one you played before". I told her it was the new one, she hmmmped, said it looked just like the other one, and kept on walking. Its true the big cities have giant buildings and a sense of grandeur, its also true their kinda vanilla and and empty. Personally I thought the capital cities in Pirates of the Burning Sea were more exciting than the 2 capitals that are making it to launch. There are some cool elements but I shudder to think what the ones looked like that got cut. Its also true this is a PVP'ers game as Mythic has stated from the start. The shortcomings this game will have at launch will in no way keep a PVE'er around. If your a PVP'er though, their might be enough fun in it for you to overlook the warts. PVP is everywhere! Heck I did more leveling PVP'ing than I did PVE'ing, and I had a good time. So who should you believe the fanbois or the trolls?....... errrrr both actually. |

No you never believe trolls. You are mixing up what a troll and someone who is critical. What even defines a fanboi? I have a ton of fun in the game so I relay that information here. Prior to trying beta I even posted about how I cancelled my pre order. So because I had a blast in game and I relay that information in a positive tone am I a fanboy? The terms are thrown around way too loosely. |

So, from what the OP is saying, "WAR is a solid game even if it has some issues" - LAWL FANBOI LAWL "WAR has some good points, but I wouldn't recommend it" - LAWL TROLL LAWL Trolls spew out the same crap to try to make the game seem worse than it really is. You can disprove them but they keep going. Same with "fanbois", though people who like the game can have more intelligent arguments than trolls ever could. |

Haha I am lightened. I am saying that the actual trolls here aren't right. Trolls are never right. It's like saying the crackheads and the police are right. The crackheads will never be right you know. |

well ok technically I agree with you, but I think people know what I am getting at. And just for the record, I would actually recommend the game to a PVP'er, but I would tell a PVE'er to check out Vanguard, its come a long way. If your looking for both, WoW is still a good alternative, but if your hardcore PVP, you really should check WAR out. Again, it was a lot of fun. |

Yeah, but then again a lot of PvE'ers have found themselves enjoying RvR so you never know. I hope they have a trial, or buddy pass thing so everyone interested can give it a shot. I could see at one point in my life not liking it, but now loving it. |

I'm the complete opposite. I would never recommend this game to a true PvPer that wants a meaningful and skillful experience in their MMO. I would however, suggest this game to a PvE person that only casually PvPs because they suck at it. This game will be perfect for them. |

That's because you are a troll. We can't expect you to say anything logical, sensible, or relevant. We can expect you to slam the game every chance you get though. For that you entertain us immensely. What is funny is that because of your name no one can take you seriously and you actually have the opposite effect on people. If I didn't know better I would say you might be a huge fan of Warhammer. |

Well if your talking solo, you have a point. But team pvp, gotta disagree with ya there. A good pvp team will own harder than they ever did in WoW. WAR is all about teamwork. The PVP mechanics seemed a little deeper to me than people give it credit for. At level 60 in WoW I relied on a handful of the same tactics. There are so many situational options in WAR that it seems pretty skill intensive actually, but your gonna need at least 10 levels under your belt to notice. I will say though my adrenaline and heart didn't get pumping like it does in WoW. The battles are drawn out with no sense of real urgency and in open world their are lots of guards to run to. Whereas in WoW you better get those neurons firing cause someone's gonna be corpse runnin soon. |
