Tell me what will be the appeal of this game vs. CoX. What will make new players and old CoX vets want to play it? So far I just don't see the point of this game unless they can somehow improve upon CoX. |

Firstly, staying true to its Superheroe theme, Champions is letting you create ur own "Nemesis", which u will have to fight every now and then. Char creation has also improved - u can customise how ur char walks (four legged possible), edit the colors of ur blasts and so on... Secondly, Champions will feature Comic-like graphics, as seen in official screenshots. Also, Champions will have different 'worlds', in contrast to CoX, where u only run about in one boring city. Combat will be action-packed, meaning u can dodge blasts, etc. Official website had promised no recharge times. Honestly. i am looking forward to this game :) |

I don't remember seeing anything four legged in the trailer, but I will go back and check again just in case. The graphics to be honest look rediculous. Yeah they set it apart from coh, but not in a good way. The create your own nemesis function.........meh. Seems pointless. I would rather the game match me with a nemesis that will challenge me. A lot of people will make a gimped nemesis for easy farming. The only thing I see that really makes me want to try it is the power customisation aspect. We will finally be able to have blasts in whatever color we want with whatever secondary affects we want. We will also be able to improve defense of what would usually be a more squishy type of character. I do hope there are no healing powers though. Give us good buffs and we won't need any "h34lz0rs!!!!!" |

The above post makes me wary... why even think about farming, or even associate any of the other horrible excuses for 'gameplay' that CoX has with Champs? They said you can design the nemesis... the extent of 'design' has yet to be determined. Perhaps it's all cosmetic or maybe you can choose what powers it has. I only hope it's not the latter, because yes, people will break the game and find the easiest enemy to mow down for quick experience. The development team said they're doing this game "right"; which I think means no farming, no mission grinding, and no useless or gimped archetypes.
Here's to hoping Champions Online isn't a CoX clone with new skin. |

I wasn't "thinking" about farming. But, I've spent enough time in MMOs to know there will be farmers whether you want them there or not. Only way to avoid farming is to have timed instance only missions and no random mobs roaming around. There is really nothing wrong with farming to be honest. The problem is when farming turns into powerleveling or the farmers are gold sellers. |

I liked that one park place in COH with your in the teens in terms of level. Those sludge like monsters sort of guys. And there's that one big boss that everyone tries to kill. Grouping there was fun. Anyways, that's the only place I thought was well designed, because it was challenging and everything like that considering the skills the players at the level were limited to. After that it just got boring and wasn't very well balanced in terms of groups, power, challenge, etc....
I think Champions will be fine if they can take all the good parts in COX and put it into Champions, and add some new stuff... Honestly, I wish the powers looked better too, because the videos I see of slashing and stuff just looks lame... |

I will continue to look throught the threads to see if anyone has answered this question. So far, it seems power customization and you get to create your own nemesis. So far, I feel it is not sufficient enough. |
