Today Turbine unveiled the first teaser trailer for Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria, the first retail expansion for the award-winning massively multiplayer online game, which is expected to release later this fall.

- Look...you won't be fighting Balrog in the sense that you think. They have hinted that it will most likely be a flash back to when it was awoken by the dwarves. Nothing here says you fight him.

- Vayanard - While I think he may be taking the game a little too seriously, Severius wasn't saying that a balrog could kill gabriel/michael--he was just making a comparison. In the LotR world, Gandalf is one of the most powerful beings around. Severius is just stating that fighting a creature that could take down Gandalf is like fighting a creature that could take down on the top angels--something that no ordinary human/elf/hobbit would have any realistic chance of doing. Since there is no such thing as a Balrog (at least to my knowledge), I'm willing to suspend my sense of realism for the sake of gameplay.

- severius i agree with you in some parts but wth makes you think that a Balrog could kill Gabriel and Michael ? o.0 Balrog is not even close of the superior demon on mythology and Gabriel is one of the God hands

- Meh, too bad Turbine and Tolkien Estates have sold out. One reason why I left this game when I did was because of the liberties they were taking with the lore. This really is going overboard. Facing off against a Balrog!?!?!?! A creature which killed Gandalf, thats like fighting against a demon that could kill the Archangel Gabriel or Michael. Not to mention that there sure as hell wouldn't be multiple balrogs hanging out in the same locale when there aren't that many left in the world. Meh, hope you all have fun with it and if it weren't for the lore violations for the sake of cheap thrills I would still be playing the game as it was well done.

- No. All they did was show scenes from the first BOOK! But I agree that it was pretty bad as far as teasers and attempts to hype go... I'm very unhyped by it. Fortunately I know enough about it to not need a teaser to excite me for it.

- How is this a teaser trailer? all they did was show craptastic CGI based on scenes from the 1st film? Could of shown some in-game footage, just alittle being a teaser trailer and all, but NOOOO.

- I thought that about the colours back at launch in April 07... But it's bc low level farmboys wear washed-out hand-me-downs; you can only have the coolest gear if you've proven your abilities. I'm with Cujo. The more the gameplay can have the atmosphere of the trailer, the happier I'll be! --Os.

- That was a really great teaser trailer. I wish the game had drama like that, but its... just the typical cheap presentation in-game, as all MMOs are.

- That was CG not in game video. Washed out watercolors would all be dull and that is not the case. You want Rainbow Bright LOTRO world?
