Three kingdoms are at war to determine which should lay rightful claim to both the Eastern and Western continents of Aden and each possesses equal potential to do so. Raoul, the young king of the newest kingdom, has proven his aptitude by quelling a civil war. The many soldiers of the kingdom of Elmore find strength of conviction in their firm belief that they are direct descendents of the ancient and powerful Elmoreden kingdom. The kingdom of Gracia’s soldiers have been honing their skills by stoically battling against their own lineage who are trying to annex the throne. All three kingdoms face dissension from within on a daily basis as the world war, whose outcome is far from certain, drags on. As a product of this chaos, you must struggle to rise above the masses and toss your combat skills into the world arena.
Lineage II is a medieval-style fantasy MMORPG and a true continuation of the original Lineage. Lineage II features considerably enhanced first-person 3D graphics over its predecessor by utilizing the Unreal 2.0 Engine developed by Epic Games. There are five choices of races to play in this MMOG; Dark Elf, Dwarf, Elf, Human or Orc, and a player can keep up to seven characters on a server. Gameplay is either solo or grouped and either PvE or PvP. In order to gain experience points, new skills, and various item drops, monsters can be battled and quests can be completed. Also, there are many social, political and economic aspects to participate in as you travel the expanse of Aden.
Expansions to Lineage II come in the form of free “Chronicles” roughly every six months. Besides major gameplay updates and alterations, each Chronicle also continues the storyline of the MMO’s main plot and brings a great deal of new content. There have been five Chronicles made available since the release of Lineage II.
The folks from Lineage 2 are bringing in a new update that will see 20 minute timed PvP matches added to the game. Taking place in a maze called Kratei Cube, this addition will allow players to "pit their battle prowess and skills against friends and foes alike."
