Hello^^/

I think if u buy the all in one pack , you get a new account key but u also get your expansion key , so u could jus imput that in with the starter account u have now and then u have the same account with all the addons.

And you can just save the other account key if u decide to make a 2nd account or give it to someone else.

Yes, you can pick your own server when you create your account. The 30 day free trial isn't a starter pack feature--*every* new FFXI account gets that. When you buy the newest box set you can use registration codes for the expansions on your already created account (which will leave the registration codes for PlayOnline and FFXI that came with the box set unused--they can be passed on to somebody else to create *his* own account, if you're so inclined). And you don't have to wait until the 30 day trial ends to get the box set and install the expansions, nor are you required to do so after the 30 days. You're free to do it any time you please. I will note, however, that you're likely to have difficulty levelling past 25 if you can't get to Khazam, which requires the first expansion, Rise of the Zilart. The Elshimo jungles are where people level from 25 to 30 to the almost total exclusion of anywhere else.

I do not believe this is correct any more. They changed how things were done so i'm not sure if it will have impact.  They have a single registration code linked to base game and all expansions.  Now, inputting the code could add onto your existing account but it may create a wholly new one.  I would contact SE before you do this to make sure.

Can you point to some evidence of this? I have not heard anything of this, and everyone posting to forums talking about the Vana'diel Collections have indicated that they still give you separate expansion codes. In any case, creating a new account and adding registration codes to an existing account are completely different processes. There's no way you could accidentally create a new account.

OK, fair enough. This apparently was introduced with the new Vana'diel Collection 2008. Unless I am reading it severely wrong, however, you CAN use this unified registration code to register all the expansions to already existing account. Doing so uses up the code, of course, and you can't do the trick I mentioned of passing along the FFXI registration code to someone else because there is no separate FFXI registration code to pass on.

No, I think they mean you'd have to put in the separate codes that the collection would come with instead of a universal code that would also be with it. I don't even think they sell the separate expansions anymore besides "Wings of the Goddess". So, no, you don't have to buy every single expansion. They're all together already. You would just be putting in each expansion registration code separately. This would all go on the same account you're using with the starter pack.
