• • Record Low activity on WAR servers

  • I have to say I'm a little worried.  I'm on a great server with great open RvR pretty much all night, but our 40s are already getting bored and though I'd love to join them leveling has slowed to a crawl.  Sadly tier 3 has been everything Mythic promised it wouldn't be, I spend 3 hours a night running the same scenario over and over again while killing 450 of the same mob so I can get a PQ reward.  The PvE quests are ok, but they only last an hour or so where the grinding takes many times that much.  Open RvR is fun, but if I ran open RvR every night it would probably take me 2-3 weeks for each level, I'll be 40 by valentine's day...

    Saturday night a friend of mine stopped by from a different server so I ran tier 1 scenarios with him.  It was so much fun, win or lose we had a great time and it was nice leveling, running PQs once or twice and being done with them.  As far as I'm concerned, except for the rotten RvR gear, ranks 1-21 are near perfect and I look forward to playing alts in that range again.  Tier 3 however, huge step down fun-wise, hopefully tier 4 will better, but it will be weeks before I'm really into tier 4 and I'm not sure I'll be able to resist playing my alts since they are so much more fun... :(

    At the same time, it's not surprising to see warhammers number go down.  I think there are still a number of people that have subscritpions to WoW and Warhammer and WoW has a new event running that sounds like a lot of fun.  I renewed for 6 months, I want to get at least one char to 40 and see how the end-game plays out, and I want to give Mythic a chance at their vision, but as of right now there's no way I would even think of taking another char from 22+ unless something pretty drastic changes.

    Blizzard is usually pretty careful about not saying "9 million players", they usually say something like 10 million accounts, and they don't even say "active" accounts, so it could include gold farmers, banned accounts, even people who haven't played for years.  However Blizzard's parent company is a publically held company so they have to post their revenue numbers.  If you look at their revenue numbers and assume that subscribers are paying $15 a month they would have around 6.5 million active subscribers.  Some people might be paying less than $15 but at the same time this ignores all the other aspects of blizzard where they would have revenue, ie WoW box sales, server transfers, trading card game, diablo, books, etc. etc. etc.

    I take it reading comprehension isn't one of your strongest abilities.  Noone is boo hooing over "the 1 tank class people actually play on order"  I'll try to spell it out for you:

    1. Leveling in tier 3 is quite a bit slower than it was in tier 1 and tier 2
    2. You'd think that with 6 scenarios there would be more choices than in tier 1 and tier 2, but there's not.  There's only 1 scenario that pops quickly in tier 3.
    3. The reason only 1 scenario pops is because order has a knockback that no other class in the game has.  This knockback hits everyone, even people behind them and snares them and has a relatively short cooldown considering how much better it is than every other knockback in the game

    We are boo hooing that we don't get to play the other 5 scenarios because Order won't queue for them and because tier 3 lasts so friggin long it makes the game a lot less fun.

    And Ethion I agree, if the lava were toned down it wouldn't be nearly as big of an issue as we'd at least have a chance.

    And you left out that everyone in the 360 degree arc also has a 40% speed reduction for 10 seconds after they get hit.   Which destruction class has anything that comes close to this again?

    You're right you don't know, if destruction had blackguards you'd know.  Desto has nothing like it, it's a massive knockback and it hits everyone even people behind them.  My Black Orc knockback is positional, only effects one or two people, can't be used as an opener (it's a bridge skill with a cooldown) and really only works with flat terrain/down hill as it lacks the upward force the ironbreaker knockback has.

     

    Yes I'm trying to get out of tier 3 as quickly as possible because this scenario is miserable but even on a heavily populated server this is the only scenario that pops on a regular basis.  You might wait 30 minutes to an hour for the other 5.   We can only assume it's because Order knows it has a huge advantage in this scenario so it's the only one they queue for.
