I've had some good runs on CoD4 but I am not consistently #1. One round I was able to pull off a 25/0 K/D with a Sniper Rifle. Once I got to 25 and the round was nearing the end I just hid in a corner for the last minute or so heh.
The video is lame, the people behind it are lame, the kids in the video are lame but you win the award for posting the video for what has to be the 20th or 30th time and then acting like it truely matters.
This would be funny as hell if it were any run-of-the-mill local politician, to have it be Palin just upgrades my lol to a rofl.
It blew me away. I had ignored the trailer links posted everywhere because I wanted to see it in the theater for the first time. I knew it was going to show before Quantum but when it first came on I had no idea it was Star Trek(which was the point I suppose). I could see the very tall Sci-Fi like buildings in the far distance but I was still quite bored with the car chase and such. I didn't realize it was Trek until he said his name.
I have seen all the Trek movies, and every episode of every series except TOS(I plan to eventually) and I have no problem at all with the direction of this movie. I just want Star Trek on TV again. Plus, this is the first time Star Trek truely seems "real". All the shows and movies including Enterprise have all seemed very fictional despite the fact the show is supposed to be all about science over magic. I'm just very psyched. Oh, and Bond was ok too.
When I first read about Darkfall quite a few years ago I was all but Drooling. UO was my first and I played it for 7 years almost consistently. All the other many many MMOs have lasted less than 6 months(some less than a month). Then I realized two things. First, Indie MMORPGs blow(Roma Victor), and that this game was "never going to be released". It seems more likely to see a release date now, but I haven't changed my mind about Indie MMOs yet. Indie puzzle games are fine, but you can't make a good MMO without money because without money you have no population.
As for this news item: I like what I read, but you can find thousands of gamers who like almost anything no matter how bad it is. When it comes to medieval MMOs you can almost triple that number. I still doubt this game will amount to anything, but I am rooting for it. Two things that stood out to me, well three actually, were all related to PvP Combat. It seems like this game will be similar to an FPS in that you really have to rely on seeing your enemy to be aware of him and that there won't be any names floating overhead. The idea of wearing non-shiny armor to ambush another player at night because there are no reflections just sounds fantastic to me. I have to wonder if these geeks were taking advantage of actual game mechanics or just "role-playing" though. I hope it is the former. The same goes for ducking behind objects on the road to get the jump on someone. The third thing has to do with PvP looting. I love the fact that it sounds like UO-Style open looting more than anything else, but I also love the fact that the dev seemed to indicate they will side with gamers who want the slow click-and-drag looting. I never realized how important it was to balancing open looting with pvp. I was unhappy to hear there are mount statues though, I really think mounts shouldn't be something you can pull out of your ass, at least not unless you are near some sort of stable.
Lastly, the thing about the glacier hopping also peaked my interest. My favorite memory from playing AoC for the month and a half that I did, was an early quest in Cimmeria where my group and I had to hop rocks on the edge of a very very high cliff to get to a boss without going through the massive amounts of enemies in our way. One wrong move to the left and you fall to your death, and one wrong move to your right and you aggro 10 enemies and mini-bosses.
