you lost all credibility when you said AOC isn't that bad. AOC is just WoW with password protected special abilities btw. There is very little groundbreaking about it. Certainly less than WAR with the PQs, war banners, non instanced keep raids, city sieges, trophies etc.
you haven't played AoC... and you have no idea what you're talking about.
Noone said AoC was completely groundbreaking... but even an idiot would know and see that the combat is actually much more interactive than other MMOs... and that can only be a good thing....
I know this is the WAR forum but it doesn't hurt to be open-minded about other games as well
I m starting to get the impression you didn t come to the WAR forums to even discuss WAR at all just a round about way to bash it and put a plug in for AOC. I answered your questions, yet you comment on an AOC comment. Leave that for the other forum unless you want to start a why is AOC so bad chat mid post.

Leucent, you said the game has "humor", and that is fine. Please tell me the humor does not reference the modern world, but is appropriate within the confines of the fantasy world Warhammer is set in.
WOW made all sorts of lame pop-reference jokes which destroyed immersion for me. I'd like to see a serious MMORPG; light-hearted is okay, but serious in the sense of keeping to world and lore.
As much as i would like to say in detail i can t. I ll say it this way, GW has an eye on everything so that might help :)

I've read/watched this game quite a bit... and I'm really trying to get excited about it.... but I can't...
I know there's plenty of fanbois on this forum and I'll probably get crucified for my opinions... but WAR just seems like the same stale gameplay to me...
I'm struggling to find something new... but all I see is another elf/goblin world with the same gameplay elements as other games...
The RvR which is the game's main selling point, is just zerg-battles... no matter how much you try to polish it.If you want a game for the graphics/action/blood/carnage... play AoC (No.. it's not as bad as people say... but it needs A LOT work yet)
If you want a game for it's lore and character/world depth, play LOTRO (which is unparalleled in these areas)
and if you want a game that's got a lot of things to do then play WoW (...i'm not a fanboi... i hate it' for what it has become)
So why play yet another game that offers you the same things as countless other games?....
Sure you might play it for a change of scenery, but how long will that last?....Anyway... I'd like to hear some constructive posts... please don't flame me... just expressing my opinions and i'm not fanboi of any games.. (other than the Fallout series :))
edit: fixed for NDA...(I hope)
Ok let me answer your original post.
1.You re really trying to get excited about itand can t, well i am excited about it.
2.RVR zerg battles and nothing else is beyond false if you ve played beta you would know , theres many options to rvr , try them all and you ll see. As far as different elements it s like alot of games yes but the one fact alone that everything you do helps the battle and moes the battle lines is a different element. It s enough for me anyways knowing i m contributing to the overall war.
3.Graphics mean nothing to me to a point. I dont want to run around with stick men which WAR is not. AOC i won t even get started at how bad it is thats for another forum.
4.In beta we re focus testing you will not see the story playing out as well as when the game goes live. The quests and story actually as i see it have humor and is very well done, but as i said it s hard to see it in its full potential until we play it from beginning to end.
5.Alot of things to do, ok lets see. RVR, PQs, TOK unlocks, group dungeons, Lairs, rvr ranks, guild levels, trophies, crafting, in rvr alone(keep takes, skirmishes, scenarios, rvr quests, city sieges) need i say more.
Basically i see it the opposite of you and you re right you re entitled to your opinion as am i. You want to tell people this to maybe persuade them to not buy, i am to tell them they should. This is why were complete opposite in our opinions.
Nothing to worry about here, he says stale as HE sees it. Since he edited his post for NDA reasons i m assuming he s in the beta. Well as am i , and i can assure many of you who may be worried I see it completely opposite of him.
Do you Role Play?
