  • Since 2004 i was actively posting on this forum.
    I have been banned many times for my rants.
    I Waited and experience many MMOs launch , sparkle and fall.
    I Purchased and played every AA title MMO out in last 6 years.
    I seen most of active posters here come and dissapear.

    I did rant about MMOs heading in wrong direction...but rant is over now.

    It is here.

    4 years wack'a'mole game is the only MMO that is actually massively played. And all other balance on brink of closing. And they deserve it.

    All they did is to copy. And if you copy something - you should do it better than original...or whats the point?

     

    I have seen hopes rise , waiting for the good thing - AOC ... fabled Vanguard. At least these games looked good in our minds before they released..right ?

    But now, there are no hopes even...

     

    What ever  AA title allready in production - is clear WOW clone , or just instanced bonanza , or both ..

    Heck, newcomers to MMO dig it ! They dont even know it could be different.

     

    And economic crisis right now pretty much slayed any other game planned production.

    Tabula Rasa shutting down - after mere 1 year !!!! And truth to be told - it was not that bad game at all.

     

    So what now?

    Clearly next two years will be grim.

    Not many titles comming out. And what is - looks very poor.

    Maybe we will see fabled Darkfall ? I am not much into full PVP , but it might be interesting...

    Except of this - its pretty much BUST for MMO's until ....2012

     

    So I find myself visiting this site less and less , posting less and less.

    I dont play any MMO right now, nor do I imagine I will next year.

    I miss it, but what can you do.

     

    Maybe a surprise will come? A saviour ?

    But right now, i just dont care about MMO anymore

    Maybe it's not the scandal you think it is??

    I had two sets of billing problems with SOE years ago... one was after I cancelled SWG and the other was after I cancelled EQ2.  Guess I should have alerted the news media that it was a scandal!

    For crying out loud people, delete your CC info after you cancel, call your credit card company and/or the billing department of GOA.  Scandal gone!

    You had personal case of billing problems.

    We are talking about potential thousands people being illegally billed tommorow.

     

    Now, if only GOA had possibility to delete CC info. But they dont.

    And they even refuse to delete the info After several support emails - demanding this!

     

    As for calling CC company and canceling -

    Thousands people calling banks to cancel GOA billing = scandal gone ???

     I call that : scandal starting

     

    Wait for tommorow

  • Yes, it is complete BS.

    Their automatic renewal was up and running already month before - I did renew and automatic one exactly 29 days ago.

    So their message and action was a total scam.

     

    What is even worse , that I have now send allready third letter to support , asking to delete my billing details -

    And they are very dodgy about it. I dont think they will agree to do it.

     

    But holding your CC details without consent is illegal in most European countries....

    Remember, I'm not defending GoA, but still.

     

     

    Yes, MAGNUS-GOA did respond on Wh-alliance. Promising more inforamtion tommorow...

    That was two days ago , and no further posts or official response to this was made.

     

    And as for sites locking threads about GOA billing. Both mmorpg.com and warhammerAlliance locked them. What they should do instead (at least) is to STICKY them.

    This would help both users unaware of problem (and many figured it out just from forums) and help GOA bill less unaware people (which i am sure was not their intention)
