    • Lord of the Rings Online: Is There A Casual Endgame
    • One of the bueties of LotRO is that casual players arern't instantly gimped completely.

Crafted armor is just fine, and even if you only log in for a few hours a week you should be able to purchase enough good gear to play around with.

If you have slightly more time, a full set of crafted teal armor is only VERY slightly worse than raid type gear. It may take you a while, but you'll get it piece by piece, as well as some fine teal rewards for the higher epic books.

The deeds system was awesome for me as a level 50, it's a way to improve your actual charactor, not just gear that will be replaced. Though I'm a deed-whore and giggled like a madman when I found a "new" deed in the old forest I had missed, killing trees.

So far in Moria (just broke in last night), I've already began replacing my old teal armor, with say 4 hours invested, minus smoke and snack breaks.

      SPOILER ALERT:

The good news is that even the most casual player with MoM will get to at least see a Balrog, and yes, he is awesome looking. I never saw his buddy in the rift because after 3 or 4 runs through the ealeir bosses I was done with that.

The epic weapon system is awesome, even when you replace the item you're using, you'll get some of your effort back if you deconstruct it . And, there are gobs more deeds.

Moria is a big win so far.

    • Yeah, go ahead and play WAR. After a while (maybe short, maybe long), you'll probably get bored with it and want something else. Then you'll have LotRO to come back to. Then, after a while, you'll get bored of LotRO, you can swing back to WAR.

    • Another one Down :)
    • If WAR seems to be solid after say 6 months or so, I might give it a shot.

Glad I didn't buy AoC, seemed like it would be great, and it has turned out to be crap.

Got burned on PotBS, looked good, bought it, played for a month.....then most everyone else left. Servers merged....ugh.

Until there is a quality game released, I'll stick with LotRO.If I get burned out, I'll play a f2p until I get that itch again. Only game since SWG years ago (hard to believe NGE was almost 3 years ago) that has me coming back. It's got that  kinda "world sim" feel that made SWG a winner. Still could use some improvements (get rid of housing hooks, more PvMP areas, would be great in later expansions to see siege engines usable by players), but all in all is the best thing out there for me.Plus, you don't NEED to raid the same couple dungeons over and over to get good gear.

You can do very well with all crafted gear if you have to. Add a few raid type/epic quest pieces (Elronds cloak from bk 12, weapon from 13, ect.) and you'll be doing great.

I consider it to be the best game out there right now, and I have tried anything worth playing.  (WoW EQ EQ2 SWG Vanguard AoC Lineage2 CoV) out of all of those games, WoW is the only one that I would consider as high of quality, and WoW is heading down the crapper with their incredibly stupid idea of making all previous group/raid content obsolete every expansion (MC raid anyone?)

I agree completely. I too enjoy WoW, but am a casual player of it to say the least. A few weeks ago, I finally got up to lvl 70, did some dailies (got revered with shattered sun offensive), then left. My guild mates where all curious why I was leaving....

"Don't you want to do Kara, BT, Heroics, ect.?"

"Not really, it's not worth it now"

"But you can get great gear man!"

"In November or so it's all gonna be junk"

      "Huh, why?"

      "Remember when TBC came out?"

      "Yeah"

"Did you do MC before that?"

      "Uhhh....yeah"

"Don't you wish you had only ran it once to see it instead of every week, and have all that time wasted"

      "............"
