Could you explain the idea of power themes as opposed to classes?
We will have a wide variety of powers to choose from. Players will gain power as they level, and leveling occurs as players complete the game content. But we wrap this and tweak them in metaphors that make sense for these characters. In the DCU, heroes and villains become more experienced by training, discovering new powers, and practicing with the ones they already know.
Body classes range from "scout" (a slim, Robin-type male) and "sprite" (a similarly slight female) to "brick wall" (a solid slab of muscle) or the more exotic "freaker" (a gangly Joker-type).
Players can then choose a powerset (electrical, light, ice, etc.), a power source (eyes, hands, weapon, power ring), and movement enhancement (flight, speed, etc.) A player can have four active and four reactive powers available at once; active skills are activated with the attack buttons, while reactive abilities are automatically engaged and range from autoblocking and autoevasion to various buffs and supports.
sounds like you'll be able to play the alpha demo for yourself

WOTLK is doing well with reviews

but other reviews, like Yahoo, have been more critical than Eurogamer, and still gave the game a 90

Still, Lich King is not without its flaws. Play a few hours and you'll quickly see the core gameplay isn't substantially different from what it's been all along. The combat system is still the old model of activating various skill buttons in the appropriate sequence.
As always, Blizzard's approach is low-risk and evolutionary, not exciting or original. Lich King lacks some of the bolder innovations you'll see in other online RPGs -- such as Warhammer Online's deeper integration of player-versus-player combat into the quest system, or Lord of the Rings Online's emphasis on creating a narrative experience to rival single-player RPGs.

their expansion releases should be smooth by now. Including the original EQ there are 19 expansions that have been released. Five are for EQ II not including the adventure packs.
adding *any* new content / updates to an existing mmo ALWAYS has the possibility of a bumpy ride ![]()
