Its fairly standard for chars to be kept for a long time as the long term revenue tends to depend on pulling old players back in rather than attracting a new audience.
you should be fine.
Typical immature response.
I look at this thread and see an ill concieved question followed by a bunch of people with a sense of humour and if you think about it, go on it wont hurt, a underlying sense of community that has kept the comedy thread running.
I play WOW and a number of other games. You should remember that it is the huge number of us "immature" wow players and the revenue we put into this game that has, in part, fuelled this genre and keeps the financial interest in deveoping the games that you enjoy.
Still, in keeping with the rest of this thread I will resist taking your post too seriously and just laugh along with you.
i think its a mix of lack of Marketing, no massive announcements for most of this year and the natural effect that gamers move on. most games keep a solid base level of loyal players whilst the rest tend to move from new release to new release - nothing wrong with that but not many games continue to grow years after their initial release.
I played for 3 or 4 months but agree with the earlier comments that it just became stale. After a while there did not seem any real "hook" to keep me wanting to achieve more or explore further. I liked the theme and intent of the game but could not drum up any excitement to keep playing.
None of them tbh.
The MMO space is becoming congested with too many releases and, as in other game genres, a small couple of AAA titles surrounded by second tier products.
I am looking forward to WOTLK, the Mines of Moria and continuing to play in Eve and maybe WAR.
I may go back and replay EQ2 again as i like retreading old steps.
