Is MMORPG in bed with MJ? It thoroughly piss me off how biased this gaming site is. I was even Fcking banned for 2-3 weeks for saying I had a lot of CTD and lag when I fist started WAR (I don't know if this is still the case since I am unsubbed but..). Today we all know how poor performance WAR has and might dare to hint to that in these forums (and only occationally get banned). Thats well and all, but is it really OK that MMORPG as an objective reviewer walk so obviously arm in arm with a game producer like Mythic?
People what do you think on this? I call for MMORPG resetting that userrating thing so that we can get a more true reflection of the game.

I don't blame Mythic for releasing the game before WotLK and Moria.
But for the love of god, stop being brainless fanbois trying to defend the game like someone is beating your young brother with a shovel.
We are in 2008 and the game didn't have a damn NEW MAIL icon! It had to be patched post release in patch 1.0.3
I totally agree with OP. They launched this game with no general chat!!! I'm hard pressed to make an analogy for how stupid that was....maybe something like launching a FPS and forgeting to add the guns...
Now can you take it a step further: Condense all NA core servers to ONE core server. (do the same for the other regions and other server types if you like).
Really put the MASSIVE in MMORPG. Im tired of playing with the crickets and tumbleweed.

I have been playing since launch and take a peek at server pop every day before I log into my server. There is no noticeable difference causing an increase on any servers. They have maintained ever since the initial drop after the initial 30 days was up. In fact the number of med/med and greater servers dropped after the first 30 days to 25 and are now at 24 post wotlk. So, there has been a small dip over the course of the game, not an increase. As of right now the game has maintained its pop since the first 30 days -- this mysterious increase is all fabricated -- lies. Anyone who plays the game and has since launch and has paid the least bit of attention to the servers knows this is BS. I am pleasantly surprised the servers have maintained there pop -- I wish I could say there has been a dramatic increase from low/low to med/med, but there hasnt been. But 25 med/med and greater is a good start from which mythic can build. Again, to all the people trying to lie about this, nice try. But again, I PLAY THE GAME, so save it for those who dont know better.
I think you may be in the grey area on this one. I admittedly haven't looked at the server list as much as you say you have, but I do know two things:
1) When I started a few weeks after launch there were many servers at high/high, high/med, med/high and most of the rest at med/med
2) In the past few days that I've looked to confirm what you've been saying, I do indeed see about 21 servers at med/med but NONE with any combination of 'high'
So maybe the title of this thread should read: Post 30 day trial my server is a ghost town..
but that is not necessarly true, I still found groups after the initial 30 days, now....natta. And it did take me more than a few days (5 or 6, i dont know) to complete all 3 chap 16 areas and as I said, saw virtually no one outside of scenarios.
I'm not sure how you could know for certain that Mythic didn't change the criteria for what is called a 'medium' populated server. Those 24 servers you saw as medium after the initial 30 days may just have been locked in as medium. You wouldnt be able to tell just by looking at the server list.

I think he was referring to how AOC one day set ALL their servers to medium, and they have been that way ever since. Others have hinted that Warhammer might have done kinda the same thing the day Wrath was launched. It appeared that servers that were low/low for a week leading up to Wrath, were suddenly med/med the day wrath was launched. Like they lowered the threshold for what is considered 'medium'.
Like I said before, after MJ used that 3% 'retention' comment last month, I wouldn't put anything past him.
This post is the perfect example of why people who DO NOT PLAY THE GAME, need to stop pulling facts from out of thin air. I have been playing since launch and literally have been checking server pop for weeks before wotlk was even released. Nothing changed with wotlk, the same 24 (give or take) servers have been med/med or greater, before, during and after wotlk.
I am almost at a loss for words as to how people like you think you can say whatever you want to people who actually PLAY THE GAME. Again, nice try, but I play the game.
I don't think anyone has actually argued with you Tyvolus. Some just suggested the possibility that Mythic is setting those servers to med/med artificailly. But whether they are or not, those servers still have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too few people for what is supposed to be a massive pvp game.
Im in Azazel which is med/med (used to be high/high) and according to http://www.waralytics.com/ is the 7th most populated server, but I just finished all 3 chapter 16 areas without running into a single open group! I crossed paths with one or two people the entire time (outside of scenarios)! something is tremendously wrong with that.
(also, the "Nice try" line takes away some of your credibility. That is kind-of the 13 yr old girl statement, no offense)
What characteristics of an MMORPG do you look at most?
