What Media Franchises would you like to see made into a MMORPG? Me personally I'd like to see G.I. Joe and Transformers(Either the movies or G1) made into MMORPGs. Now its your turn to answer and discuss.
Wouldn't it be better you use your money in more brain and less in useless shit like stupid franchise. I'll take the film industry parralell, what would be better for you to buy the batman franchise and make a serie of the most stupid film known on Earth, or to buy yourself a small brain and make a real film, i don't know, like Blade Runner.
Also if you prefer to make shit, use Barbie online, if it is as shitty as their films you'll be on top of the no brainers.
For me its not a hardcore game, a hardcore game would have perma death, would have no health bar but rather a realistic damage dealing simulation (a sword hit and you'r good or for the cemetery or to go rest for few weeks in a nonne room)...
Now for a carebear it would be a hardcore game, so i guess for 90% of actual mmo players. So yes over all you can say its a hardcore game. But as i said for me its just an other game, since it doesn't try much to simulate real life.
Dude go get a brain or a life, or even both.
Wow is a pvp game now? ![]()

.Seriously Darkfall needs to be released so the dead horse can be buried finally.
What are you saying make no sense at all. So for you sandbox is a dead horse? very interesting... I think your mind stayed few years back then when the mmo industry tryed to banish pvp and solo gaming in mmorpg. Somehow i thing you got stuck somewhere.
No. what I am saying is investors dont see sandbox as a worthwhile return. No one wants to drop tens of millions of dollars for a measly 100-200k subs. Investors are looking for solid returns immediately after launch, not years down the line.
Face it, MMOs arent about the game anymore, its all about profit.
This is what most investors think, but they get something wrong here. Its pretty much the same in the over all industry. Most investor won't take the risk to make some long therm vue product, thats a fact. But once in a while some will want to fill and realise their dream, so yes they will put the cash and go on, whatever it take. Lot will loose but hey, they tried at least. For those few that succeed we all know the benefits are not comparable with usual "use and throw" products.
Also MMo development went so much further since the first gen mmo, im pretty sure making a sandbox mmo isn't that much impossible and risky as it sounded 5 years ago. Its just a question of mentality now i guess. Its clear they have the tools to make such games without that much risk. For me the sandbox syndrome is just like the pvp syndrome, or like the solo syndrome, in mmo industry. Those are things that have to be cleared. History goes on, you can't stay back then, because of few bad experiences, thats stupid. Because few things are sure the MMO style need pvp, just like it need solo playing, and it need sandbox aspect, not because investors want it or not, not because dev can make it or not, but because customers ask it. They might close their eyes a while, but thats it.
See most French car makers never wanted to make SUV cars, they just don't like them for many reasons. But they did it, whatever they wanted it or not, because customers asked for that. Now the problem with them is that they waited so long to do it, they pretty much let the train pass, and got nothing from it.
I could have take an even cleaner example with the digital camera example, and we all know how much traditional photo industry failed the take the wave or even to predict it, and pretty much the entire industry got burried to let a new generation grow.
Which race has the best starting area in Warhammer Online?
