    • Thinking about this Rig...
    • Great Feedback! I'm putting in a little extra time at work and hopefully I'll be ordering one/putting it together soon.

Appreciate all the feedback I've gotten, it's helped a lot in my decision.

    • Can you explain to me why the DDR2 1066 RAM is worse than the DDR2 800 RAM? Is it purely because the company does not make as good of memory?

Also, I definitely cannot afford to shell out the extra cash to grab that ATI card, is the card I picked going to be the best for the money I can spend? I was aiming to make this machine sit at around 900 dollars and already am nearing the 1100 dollar mark.

Any suggestions on things that can be degraded for a little extra savings would be great as well.

      Thanks so much.

    • Well when I mean I don't have time I mean that I don't really have time to learn and such. Right now my job forces me to travel 80% of the year so I'm basically delivering the machine to my home so it's ready to go when I get there.

But sure, you could say I don't know how to build them because I don't.

I'll definitely check those two out, I was thinking the name of Gateway was a bit more reliable, or are all newegg products fairly reliable?

      Edit:

I did some watching of those videos, and I definitely feel a little more comfortable about building one, however, I honestly just feel lost when it comes to components still. I get lost in the numbers and such of video cards and RAM.

I mainly worry that a part will go bad or something and I won't know how to troubleshoot. Frankly I know very little about computers as I've played games on laptops my entire career as a gamer.

How much does one save by building their own?
