    • I made it to level 10, and like everybody said to do, I went to the dunes and searched for a party.

      I searched for 3 hours.
Then I tried Begging, Bribery, and just plain Reasoning.

      Still no team.

When people said that I'd have to grind until level 15, I just said screw it, theres much better things to do with my time, and much better games to play.

Heck, even a free game like Rappelz is also a grindfest but has 10x more teaming at lower levels than this game.

If the game sucks from level 1-15, the game just sucks. A good game is not supposed to have ANY sucky parts, and this one has a big sucky chunk.

It also sucked a big chunk of change out of my pocket.

So I'm sorry if I offended a hardcore Final Fanatic or 5 out there with this post, but not everything that Square-Enix makes is gold. And you'll probably try to pick apart and "reason" your way around that statement too. If you're planning on attempting that, dont. I have a counter-argument for every argument you have and it will just cause a flamewar.

      P.S. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

      Final Fantasy XI
    • A recent review of the game for anyone considering purchase.
    • I got the same impression that the OP did.

The graphics either look sucky or lag down my graphics card (somehow, seems impossible).

The in-game characters are fatter than their creation screen counterparts. The elvaan look cool in creation, but really really wierd in-game. The humes have the same effect. I don't even want to try the other ones.

Theres no way of easily finding a quest or mission other than running around town, talking to every NPC until you get lucky.

I would like to add that this game isn't so much of an MMORPG as it is a SPGPWOP (Single Player Game Played With Other People). It's dead, has absolutely no community, and like OP said, is like a ghost town. It's like nobody plays it.

I'm writing it off as a $30 loss. A worse loss than GuildWars was, even though GW was $50, at least I got quality.

Don't bother buying this game, it's an over-hyped money-pit made by playonline to rob you of your cash. If they wanted to make a nice game, they really could have. But the fact is, they didn't, they ripped all of us off.

Sadly, GameStop doesn't allow you to return PC games.

On the other hand, I'll be damned if I don't get at least $30 worth of gameplay out of this load, so I'll keep pressing on like its the badly made 1-player game everybody deep-down knows it is.

If somebody would have given me a freakin buddy code to start with (like I nicely requested and waited patiently for), I wouldn't have wasted my time and money.

      Final Fantasy XI
    • Good game to start?
    • I'll do my usual nonpaid promoting of City of Heroes and Air Rivals (aka Flysis).

Both games have an excellent community with active "guilds".

City of Heroes has alot of adult players. This was made obvious when I made a replica of the Noid, and people recognized it. Oh, and the player customization is so complex, it can only be described as ART. There is a curse filter toggle.

Air Rivals has ages 15-25. None really high, none really low. Also, you can disable the terrible curse filter by deleting a file.

    • MMO with excellent PVE group/raid content?
    • Raid as in Party Grinding?

If thats true, then Rappelz is your best free game and City of Heroes/Villains is your best P2P game.

btw, the cost of the gpotatoes you buy for (non-essential but useful) items will equal or possibly surpass City of Heroes' monthly fee.

If you're actually tired of fully "level vs level" PvP, then you should try Skill-Based or Semi-Skill-Based games like War Rock (fully pvp mmofps completely superior to CS:S in every way) or Air Rivals (Normal MMORPG with Flight Sim gameplay that has faction based pvp with regular wars and safe non-pvp channels... but beware of the high amount of /b/-tards, at least 90%, don't ask why).

    • lookin for games with theif class
    • Congratulations, you have asked the vaguest question in the universe other than, "Is there an MMO that is on the PC?".

I'm not trying to flame, just pointing out the obvious.

      Here's Some:

      Rappelz
      Shaiya
      12sky
      Everquest 2
      Star Wars Galaxies
City of Villains (heroes don't have very useful Stealth)
Theres so many, I can't think of even 1/4th off the top of my head
