I think i'm one of those rare sinners that really enjoyed D&D online and thought it captured the games essence well.
Doesn't running my TV on stanby for an entire year use the same amount of electricity as boiling 3 cups of tea?
That's like 50p for the privilage of being able to turn it on or off without getting out of my bed.
You may consider that a waste but I consider that a worthwhile luxury. Perhaps if I used central heating at an extra £1,000 a year I wouldn't mind getting in and out of my bed in mid winter to turn it on or off. Even so I think I'd still rather pay the 50p.
It's not like TV isn't a frivilous luxury anyway. A giant waste of power. Think of all the power stations we wouldn't need if poeple didn't waste energy on watching TV or surfing the net or any of the other multitude of luxury expenditures we enjoy.
I'm damned if I'm to be made to feel guilty because I use standby while other people are free to drink as many cups of tea and coffee as they like blamelessly.
Energy waste is market driven. It costs the same whatever you choose to use it for. If you value the use of a stanby as much as another "more righteous soul" values 3 cups of hot coco a year than good luck to you I say. You won't see them giving up their own little luxuries to save the planet. But they will gladly give up yours.
Just a load of self indulgent hypocrites looking for a cause to feel all righteously indignant about.
I challenge you all to turn off your computers right now. Do not reply to this. Do not surf Google to find quotes to re-inforce your claims. Save the world. Save the planet. Turn it all off and go read a book.
Honestly, you are worried about stanby? LMFAO. If you think your TV uses a lot if energy in standby mode, you wait until you turn it on.
I prefer to think of it as making hay while the sun shines. We have oil, it's the cheapest and most reliable energy source on the planet. When it's gone; and our dependancy will see a gradual organic shift as it did from wind to wood and then wood to coal and then from coal to oil and as it does, so the international balances of power will shift and realign to go with them.
We are humans we will always be dependant on one resource or another, and when one runs out, we will migrate to an alternative.
Now is our time.
Use our current oil advantage to capture or control uranium fields and coal fields. To build industrial bases around area's with natural capability for hydro power.
When the oil wars end, a new set of wars will spring up to replace them. I advocate being in best position possible to win those wars. When I watch Waterworld on TV, it's Dennis Hoppers gang that look like the smart ones to me.

No offence mate but you really need to re-read those reports and try and make your mind up as to what they meean after you have digested tham and not before,.
The munitons they found were the decommisioned ones. The ones that had been used in the Iran Iraq war 20 years ago. Smashed up, used, empty and buried in a hole under the battlefield they were used on. Hence the gas was all degraded. They used to be WMD a long time ago. An "ex WMD" is not a WMD. By definition it needs to be able to cause massive destruction. Something which used and decomissioned ordinace cannot do.
He destroyed those ballistic missiles in line with U.N. demands prior to our invasion.
Don't know anything about an UAV's but killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's because their military had artillery drones seems a bit extreme.
The only reason we ordered him to destroy all these weapons was so that we could invade him without fear. As soon as he smashed those missiles up, in we went. He was no longer a threat so there was no longer any reason not to.
I'm sure you've read Sun Tzu. When a strong army deploys next to a weak army, war is a certainty.

Europe identifies Iraq as major gas supplier
www.ameinfo.com/161148.html
Cowards cuts and run, MARINES NEVER DO.
Correction. Iraq was a major oil and gas supplier to Europe, now it isn't an oil or gas supplier to anyone.
Why did you think France and Germany were so keen for the place not to be invaded why they voted against sanctions? They had contracts there.
And as and if that oil supply ever goes back online, how much of those contracts will be returning to Europe, and how much will now be going to the U.S. and China instead?
The invasion of Iraq is a big part fo the reason they are now dependant on Russia so much.
And what kind of choice is that for them anyway, dependency on Russia or America? At least Russia is a weaker economy and can bartered with more easily.
The U.S. has been protecting their allies? Not in Iraq they haven't, they have been shafting their allies there.

Soldiers aren't allowed to question the government and tell them to shove it up their ass because they don't want to fight, its what you get when you sign up, a country can't function properly if its military consists of people with their own agenda.
But besides that I do agree with you that the war is a sham.
Can a country function any better when the people in it's government follow their own agenda?
It is a soldiers responasability to overthrow any government that is a danger to it's people.
I vas just following zee orders! That doesn't cut much mustard with me mate.
Sure the politicians say soldiers aren't allowed to disobey them. But the soldiers carry all the guns. They have a responsability that comes with that it and it isn't to the government first, it's to their families.
