    • Players with MMO commitment issues need to leave the genre
    • Unfortunately many gamers on these boards expect bug free, extensive content, all new ideas on combat/character progression/mechanics, best graphics on the planets, complete high end content(finished game) and such.  Throw in high end content of PvP/PvE/RvR  and crafting/merchant/housing/community or whatever.  Many of these concepts in reality oppose or limit each other, such as the high graphic nature of AoC verus PvP, so you end up with limited instances.  To expect it all is rather silly and just unrealistic with todays technologies, and I would suggest we look hard at what we are demanding.   One other thing that many here who can't stand the growing pains of new MMO's should do is not buy them at release!  For the life of me I don't understand why many buy them at release time and time again only to complain endlessly how horrible they are.  Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me!  Wait a year and you not only get a game with mininum bugs/problems, but also a game with a clear direction of where they are going in the future.   We gamers have very differing ideas on how a MMO should look like, but keep in mind the game your critizing may be just the thing others are looking for.  We don't need another WoW as its filling that niche just fine, but comparing games like Vanguard/Lotr/War to that is just plain unfair.  The developers out there have their own visions of what they are trying to accomplish and I have yet to see one that is trying to make a better WoW.  Many claim all MMO's are just copying what WoW developed....just what did WoW develope that wasn't already done by EQ,EQ2,AO,AC,DAoC,Shadowbane, etc?  They all feed off what was done before them by picking the best parts from the previous gendre as deveolper sees fit, and then trying some innovating ideas to expend on the gentre.  So in conclusion I think we gamers need to encourage deversion and not take each games  lacking features as we perceive as a direct attack on our ideals, most likely they are appealing to another group, so just move along and let that group enjoy their game instead of trying to bend it to your will!

    • Blizzard: WAR, AOC players coming home...
    • I'm amazed that people are looking for a better WoW at release of any new game.  You really think someone can beat WoW at it's own game and 4 years of experience to boot?   For those of you that are disappointed War wasn't that game, it's your own fault for thinking War would be a clone.  Any of you actually read what this game is about before you purchased it?  This game is about RvR not mindless PvE and uber dungeons, comparing that to WoW is just plain silly!  I've played WoW and its a fine game just not what I like to do at the high end.  Now if thats your cup of tea, fine go back to what you like, just quit bitching that War isn't WoW...news flash it was never intended to be that period!!!!

    • "If you have been seeing lots of negative posts about WAR then its because a lot of people think its a shit game"

Bah there hasn't been a single game released that the trolls haven't said the same thing about them.  Lets face it there will never be a game that meets their expectations and that from some of the demands I've seen in the past that is a really good thing! Anyone looking at this site to decide on a game to play is wasting their time as 80% of all posts seem to be negative.  Games such as EQ, EQ2, WoW, Lotr, Potbs, Vanguard, etc are all fine games to the crowd they appeal to, but you would never know that from all the negative troll comments posted from this site.  My advise to anyone looking at our forums is to take the posts with scheptism and try to read between the lines for the real scope on the said game.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • should i buy ?
    • I'm not sure why he said it's grind heavy as I have characters who never saw one second of PvE grinding as you can do nothing but open RvR or RvR scenario's to level up instead.  If you like RvR than i would say this game is more than ready for you to jump in, if you looking for solo PvP than not so much.
