    • To answer your question based on the information you have supplied.

      World of Warcraft would be a good choice as a starting game. It learning curve as a new person to an MMO is very good. I think you may find a few of the inside jokes to be very funny... such as the one vendor "Harris Pilton" Who sells very expensive items and bags. (I still chuckle on that one)

      Another I would suggest is City of Heroes or City of Villians. Can not go wrong with Comic book / Super Hero games and as it is the only one out there right now... Well you get the idea. COH is a very easy game to learn which I feel is great for a first time player.

      One game you may want to avoid is Eve. Not that it is not fun, but the whole economy system even gives me a headache. The learning curve is also very steep. It is a fun game, but bring an economist or a business major with you. LOL

      Good Luck out there

    • War: A nice diversion with no heart (Review: 8.0)
    • I will have to agree on this. I too played for a while, and felt it was missing that feeling. The feeling that I feel when I play WOW is good. I want to be in WOW and do whatever it is I am doing.

      But WAR saddly does not have that feel. I like a number of the game play ideas. I think it has great graphics and a new view on things. It is the feeling of life that is missing and that I think is one thing that you can not patch.

    • GOLD SPAMMERS?? How to stop them or slow them down!!
    • As a WOW player I can say at least for myself that I will report every spammer i find out there. Best way though is also the creative way they come up with names (Such as "whjklkdfsg" or "sdddjklphmr") {Ahh button mashing}

      I do think the mute would be a great tool ... Funny thing is i know real players with viable accounts I would mute. But I think that is anyone were to get say 10 reports in 30 sec that the Mute be automatic for 30 min. That way you would be effected for a mere 30 sec.

      Sad thing is that the Gold Spammers are simply advertising, really anoying advertising, but still that is what they do. Eliminate the need for the service you kill the need for advertising.

    • Why is WoW so hated on this website?
    • I think one reason may be that people burn out on it and then do not like what it has done to them and the lives they lead. I have heard of people that say they got to 60 or 70 in very short time then had nothing to do. So they get borred.

      Using the McDonalds addage... if you have it for every meal every day for 3 month ... ya you will get sick of it. Try to take it more in style, play less and enjoy the ride rather than racing through it. Think of it like life ... it is not a race.

      I think that may be part of the reason why people flame it. They overdid the enjoyment of it. But that means that rather than blaming ourselves for our overindulgence, we blame the cause.

      Flame me if you will but as someone who knows a thing or two about addictions, this is very true.
