It is not as much that they are "lazy" but they are worried to make a difference. The big developing companies out there are too worried to risk their money on something different, as MMOs are rather expensive to make.
Publishers and investors are scared to risk their money on different games; which winds up appealing to a smaller crowd. Instead, they put their money into things more like WoW and EQ clones, as they believe it is a "safer" way to use thier money.
This is why the future of games lies with indie developers.

Would you be willing to put this to the test?
None of them personally.
First I would play Citadel of Sorcery, then APB, then Guild Wars 2, and then mabye Stargate Worlds.
From that list, considering they are NOT vaporware, Darkfall. But looking from a perspectivw where some of the games tyou listed above may not get released, I would go with Stargate Worlds.
I found that Shamans' are rather good soloers. CurrentlyI am at level 16, and most of that was form soloing.
Also, being a tank or healer ar epretty good demand, but I think there is more of a demand for tanks. Either one is very enjoyable to play IMO.
Also, just group up with some people, try to join a guild using the guild list in-game, and you'll begin enjoying yourself rather quickly.

What aspect of MMORPG's are you more into?
