Possibly only D3 can top D2.

Based on your post, a reader would think that WAR and WOW have been equally been available for the same amount of time. But actually, we know that's not true. WAR has only been out for a month, and WOW has been out for few years.
Do you see the error in your judgement now?
Why is that important at all? I don't really care whether War has 4 year to do it, or just 2 week ... i am not gimping myself on a lesser feature game just because it is newer.
If it cannot compete with an older game right out of the gate, well, too bad.
I don't choose games because it is "fair". I choose games based on enjoyment and features.

Hey, today he made a big show in Time magazine. A long interview, and TR is not mentioned, yet again. The interviewer asks him what he's going to do when he gets back from space, and he doesn't talk about going back to work at NcSoft. Wonder if he knows something about the rumors of NcAustin shutting down?

Uh? I don't know how you guys read. But TR *is* mentioned in his Time interview. And I quote ...
"Up until Operation Immortality, which originated purely as a promotion for [science fiction computer game] Tabula Rasa, thinking of it as a way I could tie my space game into my space flight. We wanted originally just to send some of the player data and player votes on the greatest accomplishments in humanity, and we thought it'd be cool to send some of their DNA."

MMO genre is dead.
Hello to the masses of players that don't want anything else than a single player game with guys playing around.
I will just step aside while keeping an eye for some unexpected new game, but no hope anymore.
Congratulations developers, it wasn't easy to bring a whole genre to its knees, but you have managed to. Not a small feat.
Well, too bad for you but roller coaster ride with no force group is the clear market trend. The MMO market has expanded in the recent years.
I suppose whenever something new comes around, there will be old timers who do not like the change and leave. But this is inevitable progress.
