    • Lets hear from the current players on the big news (poll)
    •  Making any sort of assumption now, i believe, is frivolous until we know at least some basic details of this MMO. For all we know it could be a MMO FPS with jedi poking out of its ears, targeted at 6 year olds (unlikely i know). If we see something thats comparable to SWG, but obviously updated, then yes, most of the playerbase will leave SWG. If we find out it lacks some of the key features that SWG has (good player housing, cities, crafting etc), then the effect may be somewhat different.

Im going to wait and see how this one turns out, it could go anywhere at this point, which is exciting.

    • Before anyone gets too hyped up...
    •  Im gonna take a wild stab in the dark and guess, that whatever this MMO comes to be, Jedi wont be rare, at least not as rare as the Pre-CU era, especially if it's set in the Old Republic.

Oh and hi again everyone, im back, i bet salvaje missed me.

I'd just like to point out that many of those icons arent 'buffs' as in the sense you go out and prepare by obtaining them, they're ones that are popped in the midst of battle and quickly dissappear - all those GCW buff last for a very short time, almost all the bottom row requires multiple other characters with different profs and things like saber block and reflect are simply part of the proffession, a skill. So saying people feel the need to go out and buff up as much as this (or to relative extent) just doesnt hold up.

People get an ent buff, made by an entertainer (their content) (ok they dont craft it, but they do dance etc and can complete quests to improve their buffs and whatnot), they get some medic buffs, usually out of the field and they use some food/drink (crafted by someone), its not a big deal, and it promotes social interaction just as it used to though maybe to a lesser extent and in a different way. Addittionally, all traders craft powerups and such for combatants use.

The true purpose of this thread is to tell every fellow SWG veteran to finally shut their huge mouths, and find a new fun game to play. Just like I did. Yes I'm a genius I managed to find a game other than SWG. Please feel free to congratulate me (sarcasm).

I am very surprised and annoyed by the fact that people are still whining about the NGE and CU. It has been 3 years ladies and gentlemen. Three years!, how can you hold a grudge for so long? This next sentence will sound very sexist, and I apologize. The only people I've seen hold grudges for that long are women. You guys sound like complete fools when you whine about something that occured a few years back.

All of you that disagree with me will probably try to counter this argument by saying that you spent time and money on this game. So your telling me that every game that you played and got tired of and quit, was a waste of your time and money. My friends that is exactly what it sounds like. You had fun with SWG right? that's all that matters. Move on to a new game, no game is eternal. The only games that are eternal are vaporware.

There are many great games out there. Trust me you'll find one you like. I was one of those that was pissed off at SOE for ruining SWG, but I moved on. Yes SWG was one of my favorite games, but I got sick and tired of whining about something I had no power over. Just stay clear of SWG and play a game you do enjoy. Crying will get you nowhere. It will just make you miserable.

Not one of those 3 versions of the game has been through the amount of changes that leaves the game where it is now. Sure we still have 9 proffessions, but we have BM, we're getting droid commander, we have expertise. Combat has changed immensely, maybe not as much as slowing back down again, but it has been transformed. There are elements which are similar to the NGE, but the game in it's current state cannot really be called the NGE as it was.

Hey, a spade is a spade.  As I said, there have been three versions of this game released.  Just because they've added elements to the NGE doesn't mean the NGE version of the game has somehow been converted into some newer, fourth version of the game.  I do love seeing how your mind works though.  I look at it this way, when they added content (corvette, bestine elections, JTL, etc) to the original game you didn't see players running around saying stupid things like, "it's a whole new game because the devs. added content".  This is not the case today because today you people are so desperate to shed that negative aura brought about by the NGE that you'll say anything to convince us that the NGE version of the game no longer exists.

Last time I logged in the game still had the same crap it had when the NGE was first introduced.  They may have added some additional crap to the list but that's all it is, crap.  Come back and see me when the game has a real questing system that will take you all the way to 90 as was promised when the NGE was released; a UI that's worth a damn; collision detection and AI fixes that prevent NPCs from spawning in and shooting through walls & trees.  How anyone can sit here with a straight face and try to convince people that SWG is actually a good game when compared to other  games on the market today is beyond me.  Those doing so are either delusional, retarded or perhaps a bit of both.

You're missing the point completely. Adding content such as heroics, is not evolving the game into a new system; major changes to statistics, proffessions, their abilities, GCW, changing and evolving the UI and many other things including grouping etc does justify me saying that the game is no longer the NGE. SWG is a good game, sure it has many faults i'll be the first to admit, but it still offers things that other games dont, or at least, not in the way other games deliver them. Im not retarded or delusional, im just able to appreciate things, which maybe, others dont, and i dont hold pointless grudges over a game.

Daffid, I dont take it as a huge thing that they didnt value my opinion over the NGE. Sure i was pissed off at the time, but in the end, its their game, they thought (although they were wrong) it was for the better of the game; they built it, i didnt, its frustrating, but perfectly valid on their part (not considering issues like little notification etc, but looking at the general idea of changing the game).
