    • I play a girl toon and take advantage of other guys. Unethical?
    • Well the problem from a womans point of view...that is why us women gamers get treated like poison sometimes too. I have always refused gifts of items/money from ppl just because of ppl who do what OP has done. I in no way want to be associated with that kind of behavior.

Like some have said..in a rp game is shouldnt matter but lets be honest. What if some starry eyed kid chats up a female player (more or less practicing for real life) and gets quite a crush. Now, I am not talking cybering..just long talks that this kid  falls for romantically. You say its sad..I say finding out this person was really a guy that this kid poured his heart out to could permanently damage that kid. As a female gamer I have come across many kids just like that. They didn't cyber..but chatted daily about their lives etc and tended to become very attached even though I had said many times i was happily married. Instead of treating these kids like crap..I gave them advice that will hopefully help them in real life socially. Why ppl think its fun to damage another person is beyond me. Its sad that so many kids will use this avenue to practice their social skills but they do. Now ppl that tell right away they are guys will not damage those kids..its the ones that lead them on..all for pixel items. I have recently made a guy character just to see what the difference is in treatment. One, I much prefer to look at my guy char so understand guys making girl chars..second, my guy character actually gets taken a lot more seriously than my female chars. I can actually talk to ppl without fielding innuendos etc the whole time.  Sure I make nice looking female chars..guess am vain enough I dont want dog ugly ones lol but my guy char is very hot looking too.

I just wish that ppl would remember that their is another person behind that pixel chasing your pixel. A person that is possibly a shy kid needing some practice or lonely and wants to feel wanted or accepted by a female..or a lonely man that enjoys chatting ot a female instead of anohter guy. No matter how you look at it..thereis a HUMAN on the other side, up to you of course though.

    • Women Comprise 40 Percent of U.S. Gamers
    • well i made a thread about women gamers and lots of guys were in denial in that one too. I know lots of women gamers (online mmo gamers ). Granted the ones I know are ages 25-62...but that is just what I am around. Now, my son says a good many of the girls in his highschool are gamers...and very good at them too but majority are console players rather than pc altho do play some starwar online rpgs. I don't play console because I have neuropathy in my hands so a mouse is much easier for me.

Times have changed guys and I don't understand why its so difficult to believe.,I am also not sure if its quite 40%..maybe closer to 30-32%. Either way, if future games don't include types of play women like added (and nooooo not that micky mouse junk hello kitty :P)..then we will still be left with the stale same oh same oh games.

    • Am I too old for MMOs?
    • Well as a 51 yr old lady mmo player...I hate wow. Its just the community more than the game itself. I nver felt so isolated in my life! I have been jumping from game to game since swg..not fully settling anywhere. Right now I am playing Conan and free trial of  LOTRO (for second time) and a free server of my very first mmo that its official sserver closed down. Most days I just don't even bother to log into any of them.Warhammer is pvp and tbh lol, pvp hurts my feelings. Silly I know but can't help it.

    • Female players play MMO.
    • I made a guy character for the first time with AOC...and having to really work at not acting creepy to ppl lol. I am so use to calling ppl hun in games (I live in the south) but as a male char..that would be just kind of creepy. I mostly stay very very quiet but for the first time in my gaming history..was told to stfu while on him rofl. Its nice being treated equal tbh. And as far as items ingame..I have always refused gifts because of the rep girl gamers have been given. I didn't want to feel obligated to anyone either though. I wanted to earn everything I got. So when ppl came to see my bunker in swg..I could honestly feel great pride in all the items I had earned in all those years of playing.

I also found as a female player though..that there are guys that sweet talk girls up to get free stuff. Took me a bit to catch on to that lol but as a crafter, rarely minded helping ppl out. But there were guys that took advantage of that softer side also..so it goes both ways really.
